Donald Trump is returning to Washington, D.C. to clean up the institutional rot.
He’s going to need some help along the way.
And an FBI official hit the panic button over Donald Trump making one decision to drain the Swamp.
Disgraced Russia collusion hoaxer warns about potential FBI pick by Donald Trump
One of the most important personnel decisions President-elect Donald Trump will make is choosing a new FBI director.
He appointed FBI director Christopher Wray in 2017 after he fired former FBI director James Comey.
The Wray-led FBI kneecapped Trump’s first term in office by pushing the Russian collusion hoax.
One of the names at the top of the shortlist to become the new FBI director is former Trump Defense Department official Kash Patel.
Patel rose to fame for his work as a staffer on the House Intelligence Committee under former chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) debunking the Russian collusion hoax in 2018.
The possibility of a Trump loyalist coming in to clean up the FBI has the Washington, D.C. Swamp nervous.
Disgraced former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe warned Patel becoming a deputy director would put him in a position to make major changes during an appearance on CNN’s The Source.
“No part of the FBI’s mission is safe with Kash Patel in any position of leadership in the FBI and certainly not in the deputy director’s job,” McCabe said.
McCabe pointed out that the deputy director is one getting his hands dirty overseeing the day-to-day operations.
“So just as a . . . as an example, the deputy director job in the FBI is unique because, of course, the director is a political appointee and the deputy director is typically a senior FBI agent, somebody who spent their entire career learning about the FBI, understanding its people and doing its work. So the deputy director actually runs the FBI on a day-to-day basis,” McCabe explained. “You’re essentially the chief operating officer.”
Disgraced former FBI official sounds the alarm on the power a Trump loyalist could have at the FBI
McCabe was fired from the FBI by Trump for illegally leaking information to the media and lying under oath.
He claimed that Patel overseeing the day-to-day operations would give him immense power over the FBI’s inner workings.
“I can tell you from my own experience, there is no way I could have successfully performed in that role without having spent the first ten years of my career doing criminal work in the FBI and the next 10 years doing national security work,” McCabe stated. “The scope of authority is enormous. I think I had about 78 or 80 direct reports when I served as FBI director, deputy director, 56 of those people ran entire field offices.”
He thought that Patel as deputy director would have more of an impact on the FBI than being appointed director.
“So you are enmeshed in every aspect of the FBI’s work if you enter into that position with nothing more than a desire to disrupt and destroy the organization, um, there is a lot of damage someone like Kash Patel could do in a position like deputy director at the FBI you mentioned that director is a political job puts it in there,” McCabe claimed.
Kash Patel could be the person Donald Trump could trust to go in and clean house at the FBI.
