Donald Trump has the Democrats spitting nails.

His administration is going straight at the heart of Permanent Washington.

And all hell broke loose when this union boss accidentally told the truth about one Trump move.

Department of Education getting DOGE’d

Donald Trump meant business when he said that he was going to root out waste, fraud, and abuse within the federal government.

Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are making all sorts of recommendations for cuts.

One organization that’s primed to cut is the Department of Education.

For decades, Republicans have talked about eliminating the DoE, which has only been around since 1979.

Trump is actually taking steps to gut the organization, and Democrats are having a conniption.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon said in a statement, “Today’s reduction in force reflects the Department of Education’s commitment to efficiency, accountability, and ensuring that resources are directed where they matter most: to students, parents, and teachers. . . I appreciate the work of the dedicated public servants and their contributions to the Department. This is a significant step toward restoring the greatness of the United States education system.”

Reducing personnel at the DoE inflamed the teachers unions.

Union bosses lose their minds

Betsy Pringle, head of the National Education Association (NEA)—the largest teachers union—admitted in an interview, “We know the last thing those students—all of our students—need is for the over 400,000 jobs, education jobs, that are funded out of federal dollars, if those are cut, we know what’s gonna happen.”

In other words, Pringle knows that cutting the DoE will reduce patronage jobs.

That’s her primary concern, not the children.

Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the second-largest teachers union, ranted, “And when they cut half of the people. . .it’s like evisceration about a thousand cuts. So you wanna do this? Have the fight with us in Congress. Let’s make sure we get the issues out there. I’m so mad. I’m spitting mad about this because it’s hurting the people who can’t vote. Children don’t vote. Let’s not take away their opportunity.”

Similar to Pringle, Weingarten was using children as cover for her political agenda.

Children do not get a vote, but if they did, administrative bloat at the DoE would not be at the top of their priority list.

The Department of Education has a $268 billion budget, and a lot of that money gets funneled into Democrat coffers.

The teachers unions fought to keep schools closed indefinitely during COVID.

They cared so much about the children that they ignored learning loss and fought for political priorities like divesting from police officers on school campuses.

And while Pringle and Weingarten hide behind the children, they themselves are raking in the dough.

In 2022, it came to light that Pringle made over $500,000 while fighting for school closures.

In 2021, it was reported that Weingarten made $564,236, more than nine times the average salary of a teacher.

The unions have gotten fat and happy off of so-called care for the children.

But academic results keep going in the wrong direction.
