Secret “resistance” officials in the Trump administration thought they could get away with betraying Donald Trump.

Trump had bad news for them.

And now all hell is breaking loose after Donald Trump dropped this “treason” bombshell.

Trump launches investigation into “Anonymous” official and suggests treason charges

President Donald Trump signed executive orders on Wednesday to suspend the security clearances of two former officials who worked in his first administration – Miles Taylor and Christopher Krebs.

Trump directed his administration to investigate their activities while they were government employees.

When speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump dropped a bombshell accusation against Taylor that left Washington insiders stunned.

“I think he’s guilty of treason,” Trump told reporters.

Treason is one of the most serious crimes in America – a potential death-penalty offense.

Taylor, who served in the Department of Homeland Security from 2017 to 2019, secretly worked to undermine Trump’s Presidency from within.

In 2018, he penned an anonymous op-ed in the New York Times titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration” where he openly admitted to “thwart parts of his agenda.”

Taylor later wrote an entire book under the pseudonym “Anonymous” attacking Trump before finally revealing his identity just prior to the 2020 election and endorsing Joe Biden.

“He wrote a book, ‘[A Warning:] Anonymous,’ and I always thought it was terrible,” Trump said Wednesday. “Now we have a chance to find out whether or not it was terrible. But it was a work of fiction.”

“I barely remember him. Somebody that went out and wrote a book and said all sorts of terrible things that were all lies,” Trump added.

Trump accuses Taylor of publishing classified information for personal gain

In his executive order, Trump expressed the grave moral failure he saw in Taylor’s actions.

“Miles Taylor was entrusted with the solemn responsibility of Federal service, but instead prioritized his own ambition, personal notoriety, and monetary gain over fidelity to his constitutional oath,” the order stated.

“He illegally published classified conversations to sell his book under the pseudonym ‘Anonymous,’ which is full of falsehoods and fabricated stories. In so doing, Taylor abandoned his sacred oath and commitment to public service by disclosing sensitive information obtained through unauthorized methods and betrayed the confidence of those with whom he served,” Trump’s order insisted.

The order specifically noted that Taylor’s actions could “properly be characterized as treasonous and as possibly violating the Espionage Act.”

Taylor responded to the accusations on social media, posting: “Dissent isn’t unlawful. It certainly isn’t treasonous. America is headed down a dark path.”

Trump also targets Krebs for election “disinformation”

The President’s second executive order targeted Christopher Krebs, the former head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), whom Trump fired in November 2020.

Trump characterized Krebs as a “significant bad-faith actor who weaponized and abused his Government” position and engaged in “abusive conduct.”

“Krebs’ misconduct involved the censorship of disfavored speech implicating the 2020 election and COVID-19 pandemic,” Trump wrote in the order. “CISA, under Krebs’ leadership, suppressed conservative viewpoints under the guise of combatting supposed disinformation, and recruited and coerced major social media platforms to further its partisan mission.”

The order also accused Krebs of working “to blind the American public to the controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s laptop.”

Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to determine whether Krebs violated federal employee standards or shared classified information without authorization.

After being fired in 2020, Krebs became a vocal Trump critic, appearing as a witness for the Democratic January 6 committee and calling Trump a “wannabe tyrant.”

“If that happens to other Presidents, it wouldn’t be sustainable for other Presidents. I seem to be able to sustain, but if that happened to other presidents, it’s just unfair,” Trump explained about his decision to investigate both former officials.

The executive orders represent a significant escalation in Trump’s efforts to hold accountable those he believes worked against his administration from within – what many of his supporters have long called the “deep state.”

Trump critics view the moves as a dangerous retaliation against government officials who spoke out against him, while supporters see it as necessary accountability for officials who undermined a democratically elected President.
