Donald Trump is ready for battle against the Deep State.
This time his administration has four years of experience on its side.
And a Trump official issued a warning that spells doom for one terrible Deep State scheme.
New EPA administrator warns rogue employees about undermining Trump
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was one of the epicenters of resistance against President Donald Trump during his first term in office.
Career bureaucrats at the EPA are almost uniformly far-left Democrats who despise Trump’s agenda.
Newly confirmed EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin told reporters that he wanted to work with the agency’s career employees to deliver for the country.
But he warned rogue employees who want to stymie Trump’s agenda that they should look elsewhere for a job.
“I think there’s going to be a headcount reduction in agencies all across the federal government,” Zeldin explained. “For us, we have to closely monitor who is deciding to stay and who’s deciding to go, and make sure that we’re filling all of our most important positions with urgency if any vacancies are created.”
Zeldin said that he hoped EPA employees would do the right thing at their jobs.
“Quite frankly, I’d want anyone who is currently working at the EPA to view their job as essential and important,” Zeldin explained. “That sense of pride in their job is something that will increase their productivity and it’ll enhance the agency, and will make the American public proud. We want to be able to work with all of the talented career staff here in the building.”
But he warned anyone who wanted to resist Trump’s agenda should hit the road.
“I don’t believe that anyone should be here at EPA who is not committed to the agency, mission, and the lawful directives coming from the duly-elected President of the United States,” Zeldin stated.
Mass firings underway at the EPA
The Zeldin era at the EPA began with a campaign of shock and awe.
More than 1,100 employees were informed in emails that they were being fired because they were still on their probationary period after having started at the EPA less than a year ago.
American Federation of Government Employees Council 238 union boss Marie Owens Powell was stunned at the firings.
“It’s bad. I’ve been with the agency for over 33 years and I’ve never seen anything like this,” Powell said.
The Trump administration learned the lesson from the EPA’s fierce resistance to Trump during his first term.
Employees would use encrypted messaging apps to play ways to undermine the President’s agenda.
Trump issued an executive order to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) positions in the federal government.
Three EPA DEI officials were axed because of the order.
Powell thought more EPA employees were going to be fired.
“We have stood up new environmental justice offices across the country,” Powell stated. “I don’t want us to let our guard down. I expect hundreds will be put on this list.”
Lee Zeldin is cleaning house at the EPA as it begins rolling back the green energy agenda pursued by former President Joe Biden.
