Adam Schiff was one of Donald Trump’s chief antagonists during his first term.

He’s looking to pick up where he left off when the President-elect is inaugurated.

And a top Democrat has one awful scheme for Adam Schiff to upend Donald Trump’s Presidency.

House Democrat proposes a shadow government to oppose Donald Trump

Democrats are searching for ways to oppose President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration.

Representative Wiley Nickel (D-NC) proposed borrowing from the British parliamentary system and creating a shadow government to serve as the opposition to Trump.

A shadow government in the United Kingdom consists of the leader of the minority party and members of his party filling roles as shadow cabinet members to lead the opposition to the main political party.

“We need to borrow from our British friends and appoint a shadow cabinet to fight back against the worst excesses of a second Trump administration,” Nickel wrote in an opinion piece for The Washington Post.

Nickel argued that Democrats needed new ideas and a fresh approach to opposing the Trump administration.

“As Democrats, we simply failed to convince the American people we have better ideas to solve their problems, but we do. Now we need to dust ourselves off and get ready to fight,” Nickel said. “We can’t let Donald Trump’s extreme MAGA agenda go unanswered or unopposed.”

Nickel suggested that Democrats could appoint a shadow cabinet secretary for each of the 26 positions in Trump’s cabinet.

“So, what would a shadow cabinet look like here in the United States? We have an amazing wealth of talent on the Democratic side of the aisle in Congress — people loyal to the Constitution and ready to serve in opposition. Democratic leaders Hakeem Jeffries (New York) in the House and Charles E. Schumer (New York) in the Senate could appoint 26 members of Congress to go one-on-one with each member of Trump’s Cabinet,” Nickel explained.

The return of Adam Schiff to center stage

U.S. Senator-elect Adam Schiff (D-CA) was suggested as someone who could spar with Trump as the Democrat shadow Attorney General.

“If Trump attempts to weaponize the justice system against his political opponents with Matt Gaetz at the helm, we can see incoming Senator Adam Schiff as our shadow Attorney General, arguing against replacing our independent prosecutors with Trump loyalists,” Nickel declared.

He missed the irony of complaining about a weaponized justice system when Trump had to fight off four politically motivated criminal cases brought by Democrat prosecutors.

“New times require new solutions,” Nickel claimed. “This shadow cabinet isn’t just about opposing extreme MAGA attacks on our government. It’s also about making clear what we stand for, which is something we didn’t do enough this election cycle.”

Schiff used the Russian collusion hoax against Trump to become a darling of CNN and MSNBC during the President-elect’s first term.

He parlayed that fame into winning a Senate seat in California this year.

Whether a Democrat cabinet shadow cabinet comes to fruition, Schiff will be ready to push whatever the new hoax is against Trump from the Senate.
