Hooters was one of the most popular chicken wing restaurants in the country.
The beloved chain has fallen on hard times in recent years.
And Hooters got some bad news but smokin’ hot social media influencer Paige Spiranac wants to ride to the rescue.
Hooters prepares to file for bankruptcy as the chain continues to struggle
Hooters became one of the most popular sports bars in the country with a simple formula success.
Cold beer and the chain’s famous wings served by buxom waitresses wearing the trademark Hooter’s outfit of skimpy orange shorts and tight white t-shirts.
Hooters like many restaurants has struggled coming out of the pandemic.
Eating habits have changed with more customers ordering take out and delivery.
Foot traffic is down at Hooters with fewer people dining in.
The appeal of Hooters comes from dining in and being served by a hot waitress while watching the game.
Competitors Tilted Kilt and Twin Peaks also moved in with their own scantily clad waitresses which ate away at Hooters’ dominance as the restaurant with hot waitresses.
The chain closed 40 underperforming stores across the country last year in a bid to turn things around.
But that wasn’t enough to keep Hooters afloat.
The beloved restaurant chain will be going into bankruptcy in the coming months.
Bloomberg reported that Atlanta-based private equity firm Nord Bay Capital, the owner of Hooters of America, is working with the restaurants’ creditors to come up with a plan to restructure the chain in bankruptcy.
Nord Bay Capital hired law firm Ropes & Gray to begin the process.

But her considerable reach on the internet might not be enough to save Hooters.
University of Tennessee at Martin instructor Alex Beene told Newsweek that Hooters was hit with a perfect storm of problems in recent years.
“Hooters and similar restaurants are getting hit by three factors concurrently. The higher prices on food supplies equate to higher meal costs. Consequently, more expensive dishes means fewer consumers are dining out. The third factor many don’t consider are rising rents on many restaurant locations, which also add to pricing pressures,” Beene explained.
“It’s the perfect storm of negative news to make some restaurant chains consider filing for bankruptcy and using the financial opportunity to restructure into a leaner and more cost-effective company,” Beene added.
Hooters is banking on bankruptcy being able to put the beloved chain back on the path to profitability.
