FEMA has been dogged by scandals since the hurricanes last year.

The embattled agency’s corruption is being exposed.

And Kristi Noem fired a FEMA official over one terrible scandal that will leave you seeing red.

FEMA employees who spent $59 million on hotels for illegal aliens fired

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been in hot water since last fall’s Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

FEMA officials were widely criticized for a slow response to help storm victims.

A whistleblower revealed that a FEMA supervisor ordered disaster relief workers to skip homes with signs or flags featuring President Donald Trump.

Former President Joe Biden hijacked the agency to transport and care for illegal aliens entering the country during his border crisis.

FEMA spent $650 million caring for illegal aliens in Fiscal Year 2024 with its Shelter and Services Program.

The Department of Homeland Security discovered that four FEMA employees, including the Chief Financial Officer, went around leadership to pay for illegal aliens to stay at luxury hotels in New York City.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) discovered that FEMA paid $59 million to New York City hotels to help with the costs of illegal immigration.

“The [DOGE] team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants,” Musk wrote on X.  “Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order. A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds.”

Storm victims of Hurricane Helene are still living in temporary housing, including tents, and FEMA officials were taking taxpayer money to make sure illegal aliens had a roof over their heads.

Trump administration takes swift action after DOGE’s discovery

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin warned that “deep state activists” wouldn’t undermine the Trump administration.

“Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants,” McLaughlin wrote in a statement.

The firings came one day after DOGE exposed the $59 million FEMA shelled out.

“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people,” McLaughlin added.

New York City tried to wash its hands of the scandal after it was exposed.

The city’s press secretary Liz Garcia claimed that the FEMA money was appropriated under the Biden administration and New York didn’t pay full price for the hotels.

FEMA is more interested in helping illegal aliens than Trump supporters.

That’s why Trump is considering a massive overhaul of federal disaster relief.

He’s suggested that states should take the lead on responding to natural disasters with federal money backing them up.

Trump signed an executive order establishing a panel to review FEMA and recommend changes to the agency.

FEMA is in need of a massive overhaul after the agency lost sight of what its mission is supposed to be.
