Rather than tuning into cable news networks like CNN, or network news outlets like NBC News or CBS News, many Americans would prefer to go to their trusted news source on social media or elsewhere.
This comes after years of intense partisanship from stations like CNN, which many Americans would agree serves as nothing more than state media for the Biden-Harris regime.
As CNN’s influence dwindles, CNN hosts and executives have gone into panic mode.
Just the other day, for example, CNN host Abby Phillip of “CNN Newsnight” went on a tirade about America’s declining faith in the media.
Phillip pointed to Jeff Bezos’ refusal to have the Washington Post endorse a political candidate before blaming politicians for the decline in the public’s faith in the media.
More specifically, the outraged CNN host stated, “For all the flaws of the mainstream media, and we have a lot of them, it’s not just the media’s fault that trust has been declining for decades, it’s also decades of attacks by politicians.”
“That is the main issue, is that, like — yeah, it could be that The Washington Post is endorsing candidates or it could be that there are millions of voters who believe lying politicians who tell them lies, knowing that they are. That could be the problem, too,” the flustered CNN host added.
In a nutshell, Abby Phillip blames politicians for sewing seeds of division between the American public and the mainstream media, rather than analyzing the actions of the mainstream media itself.
Many Americans would agree that they no longer trust the mainstream media, because it often embellishes, if not flat-out lies about, stories in order to grab the attention of viewers.
This became painfully obvious during the pandemic, when news sources like CNN spewed out alarming and often flat-out false claims about the disease, sending the nation into a full-blown panic.
Now, mainstream media outlets demand that the American public restore its faith in them, despite their lying to and deceiving the American public for years.
The mainstream media refuses to take accountability for their decline
Abby Phillip demonstrated why many Americans have grown tired of the mainstream media, after she pointed the blame to politicians for CNN’s decline.
Many Americans disagree with this take, instead pointing to the deceptions and flat-out lies spread by media outlets such as CNN and the network news channels.
Instead of reflecting on these lies and distortions, pundits like Abby Phillip would rather point the finger at society and politicians.
Many media experts agree that if stations like CNN do not improve their tactics, then it could become a relic of the past.
