The Disney brand is taking a bludgeoning.
One big problem is that the company has empowered far-left radicals.
And a “woke” Disney actress stepped in it again when she went on one unhinged rant.
Snow White puts her foot in her mouth, again
Disney’s entire brand is built on family-friendly entertainment.
But radical leftists have other ideas.
They want to use Disney—and any other institution they can control—to push their political agenda.
That’s why the new live-action Snow White movie is supposed to have a strong feminist undercurrent.
That’s at least according to star Rachel Zegler, who’s playing the lead.
Zegler denounced the classic Snow White fairytale and said that her version of the character would not need to be rescued by a prince.
Zegler’s comments annoyed many fans of the original animated film.
She has repeatedly made comments that she and the studio have walked back, and she did it again.
After Donald Trump’s victory, Zegler took to Instagram to rant about the result.
She wrote, “I find myself speechless in the midst of this. Another four years of hatred, leaning us towards a world I do not want to live in. Leaning us towards a world that will be hard to raise my daughter in. Leaning us towards a world that will force her to have a baby she doesn’t want. Leaning us towards a world that is fearful.”
Leftists instantly go to the “right” to kill babies.
It’s truly disturbing to think about.
Hating on over half the country
Zegler continued, “I shouldn’t be this shocked, but I am. I am heartbroken for my friends who awoke fear this morning, and I am here with you. To cry, to yell, to hug. To wax poetic on how the left continues to fail us in forging a new path forward. This loss should not have been, and it certainly should not have been by so many votes. I echo Ethel Cain’s statement more than anything. May trump supporters and trump voters and trump himself never know peace.”
So Zegler hopes that Trump and his supporters “never know peace.”
In other words, she is denouncing over half the country.
That is not exactly good marketing for a company that wants to appeal to the entire country.
Disney’s PR team assuredly got to Zegler and told her to correct her big mistake.
She issued the following apology on Instagram: “Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week. I let my emotions get the best of me. Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse. This week has been emotional for so many of us, but I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their opinion, even when it differs from my own. I am committed to contributing positively toward a better tomorrow.”
Unhinged leftists like Zegler are precisely why Trump won in the first place.
He even won the popular vote, and did so by putting together the most diverse Republican coalition ever.
Zegler is part of a dwindling minority of “woke” zealots.
