New York City Mayor reveals how the Biden administration policed his speech
New York City has been overwhelmed by an influx of illegal aliens during the border crisis.
The city is on the brink of the exploding costs of housing and caring for them.
New York City Eric Adams became one of the first Democrats to criticize former President Joe Biden for his handling of illegal immigration.
He asked the Biden administration in December 2023 for help with the illegal aliens overrunning the Big Apple.
The Democrat Mayor revealed that Biden officials told him to “be a good Democrat” about the illegal immigration problem in his city during an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Carlson asked how the meetings between him and the Biden administration played out after his public criticism.
“I spoke with Julie Chavez [Rodriguez], [she] is one of the [Biden] personnel. [Tom] Perez, another personnel,” Adams recalled. “I spoke with the President himself. I spoke with the president first, and then the President came here to New York City.”
He and New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) sat down with Biden to explain the damage illegal immigration was doing to the city and state.
“The governor and I sat down with the president. I said, ‘Mr. President, I’m not sure what they’re telling you about this problem. But this is a terrible problem that’s playing out on the ground that we need to fix our border,’” Adams explained. “‘We need to just stop allowing people to come into the country with no destiny. We don’t know what we’re doing with them, and they were stuck.’”
New York City’s anti-homeless law caused big problems
New York City has a right to shelter which requires the city government to provide housing for anyone who doesn’t have it.
The law was originally passed to help the homeless but it made the city a magnet for illegal aliens.
Adams said that the city was expected to provide housing for illegal aliens for up to two years which became a massive drain on resources.
“There [were] some that were coming here that were almost six months to a year, in some cases two years, without any work authorization,” Adams stated. “Like what do you do with someone that cannot provide for themselves for that long period of time?”
New York City was responsible for feeding, housing, clothing, and educating more than 40,000 children of illegal aliens.
“So you tell the President and his aides this, and what do they say?” Carlson wondered.
“Basically, ‘Be a good Democrat, Eric,’” Adams said. “That was the basic overall theme. One of his aides told me, ‘Listen, this is like a gallstone. It’ll pass.’”
Carlson was stunned by what he heard.
“Yes, [they said] ‘It hurts now, but it’ll pass,’” Adams said.
Joe Biden even left his political allies on their own to deal with the crisis that he created.
