The media went all in on trying to get Kamala Harris elected.
Journalists thought the industry’s reputation couldn’t sink any lower.
And Trump’s impeachment lawyer revealed one final humiliation awaiting the media.
The media tries to keep the hysteria going about Donald Trump
The media became a full-fledged army of Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign during the election.
Journalists showered her with overwhelmingly positive coverage.
President-elect Donald Trump was relentlessly attacked as an existential threat to the country.
Outlets like MSNBC and CNN falsely claimed that he was a threat to democracy and a potential dictator.
The media delivered constant fear-mongering about a potential Trump Presidency.
But Trump won the biggest victory for a Republican candidate since the 1980s in a sign of the waning influence of the media.
George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley warned the media’s credibility was going to take another major hit during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Life, Liberty & Levin.
Host Mark Levin brought up a recent story from Politico that claimed senior Biden White House officials were looking to issue blanket pardons to RINO Liz Cheney, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and others in anticipation they could be prosecuted by the incoming Trump administration.
“So what is this?” Levin asked. “All of a sudden, they’re leaking it to the media that they’re looking at these preemptions and they start giving us names, Liz Cheney. I’m thinking to myself, you’re going to hand out pardons like lollipops about crimes that haven’t been charged or even been discussed.”
“They’re going to do some of this because they were waving around the flag of democracy, and Donald Trump is not a threat to democracy,” Levin added.
Turley pointed out that the media was invested in pushing a false narrative that Trump was a potential fascist dictator.
“Well, I think that’s part of the dilemma for many Democrats,” Turley replied. “They’ve spent the last year saying this will be our last election. Democracy is about to collapse, and Trump is going to literally round up people and send them into camps, and you have people on MSNBC, on various news channels, saying we’ll be on the list.”
The media walked themselves into a trap
Turley explained that the media floating blanket pardons was about continuing their narrative about Trump being a threat.
“Well, that’s going to be rather embarrassing if it doesn’t happen, if democracy doesn’t die, you’re in a real dilemma with many of your viewers,” Turley stated. “Now, the best way to keep that narrative alive is to get some massive, sweeping pardon so that you could say, well, fortunately, Joe Biden issued what you call a white knight pardon. The whole idea is to keep that narrative alive, that if it had not been for the white knight pardons, we would have all been laid waste by someone that one of them called a maniac coming into office.”
The media is trying to keep their phony narrative going to keep their reputation afloat.
Next year when Trump takes office and none of their terrible predictions happen it will be another black eye on the industry.
The last election proved that the influence that the media has on the public is in decline.
Journalists are trying to get their industry afloat with hoaxes rather than deliver straight reporting.
