Democrats want to undermine Donald Trump’s administration from within.

The President got bad advice about one of his nominees.

And teachers unions are trying to install a terrible RINO into Donald Trump’s cabinet.

Big Labor-backed Secretary of Labor nominee threatens to undermine Trump’s agenda

President Donald Trump has done an outstanding job on most of the selections for his cabinet.

But he received terrible advice about picking his nominee for Secretary of Labor, RINO former Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR).

Chavez-DeRemer’s nomination has flown under the radar because Democrats and their media allies haven’t made a stink about her.

She served a single term in the House after she was elected in 2022 where she cemented herself as one of the worst RINOs in Congress.

Chavez-DeRemer backed the so-called ProAct, which is a wish list of every bad idea Big Labor has had.

The bill would wipe out every state Right to Work law, eliminate independent contractors, and force workers to pay union dues.

Right to Work laws simply say that no worker should have to pay union dues as a condition of employment, and they give the states that have them a big economic advantage over states that don’t, economic data has consistently shown.

The ProAct on the other hand, would empower union bosses who would use the money and power they gained from the workers they claim to represent to help elect Democrats.

Big Labor spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to defeat Trump in the 2024 Election.

Anti-Trump union bosses have thrown their support behind Chavez-DeRemer for Secretary of Labor.

Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) union boss Sara Nelson is a political ally of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Nelson’s union spent big opposing Trump in the 2024 Election but she gave an enthusiastic endorsement to Chavez-DeRemer.

She said that Chavez-DeRemer “didn’t just sign on to labor issues: she led on many of them. This was one of the easiest endorsement decisions our policy committee has ever made.”

Chavez-DeRemer also backed the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act which would force virtually every state and local government employee under a union.

The kiss of death for her nomination as Secretary of Labor was a ringing endorsement from American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten, who ardently opposes Trump and his agenda.

“I thought it was important for those of us who believe in labor rights and worker empowerment to stand up and say that this was unconventional and a positive appointment,” Weingarten said.

Chavez-DeRemer also voted to allow taxpayer funding for abortion, which led pro-life groups to oppose her.

“We don’t need a ‘C’ Legislator on LIFE Leading the Department of Labor,” Students for Life Action said.

Conservatives can still stop Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s nomination

Chavez-DeRemer’s confirmation goes through the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee.

U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), a HELP Committee member, announced his opposition to Chavez-DeRemer because of her support for the ProAct.

“I’m not going to support her,” Paul, a senior member of the HELP Committee, told NBC News in January. “I’m the national spokesman and lead author of the right-to-work bill. Her support for the ProAct, which would not only oppose national right to work but would pre-empt state law on right to work — I think it’s not a good thing.”

Eight of the Senate Republicans on the committee represent Right to Work states.

Chavez-DeRemer should be a tough vote for them because of her support for eliminating state Right to Work laws.

Conservatives can voice their opposition to her before the HELP Committee hearing by telling Republican Senators that Lori Chavez-DeRemer is bad news for Trump’s agenda and the country.

The National Right to Work Committee has begun ramping up grassroots opposition to Chavez-DeRemer’s nomination ahead of a confirmation hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

“Call U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy and tell him to OPPOSE Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Labor Secretary: 202-224-5824. Don’t let left-wing Union Bosses run President Trump’s Labor Department,” National Right to Work wrote in a post on X.

In addition to Cassidy (202-224-5824), National Right to Work made similar posts urging conservatives to call Republican HELP Committee members, including Tommy Tuberville of Alabama (202-224-4124) and Ashley Moody of Florida (202-224-3041), to oppose Chavez-DeRemer.

Cassidy, Tuberville, and Moody are all up for reelection in 2026.
