The NFL is the most popular sports league in the country.

But it is no stranger to controversies.

And the NFL made this infuriating pre-Trump appearance Super Bowl announcement that spits in the face of millions.

NFL doubles down on its commitment to DEI

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies have been in retreat under President Donald Trump.

Trump issued an executive order banning DEI in the federal government.

Major corporations could see which way the political winds were blowing after the 2024 Election.

Companies like Walmart, McDonald’s, Meta, Ford, Toyota, Lowe’s, Harley-Davidson, John Deere, Target, and others announced they were winding down their DEI initiatives.

Many of the companies cited the Supreme Court’s 2023 decision that struck down affirmative action in college admissions as illegal.

Conservative activists like Robby Starbuck have pressured companies to drop their DEI policies.

DEI is on the retreat across corporate America except for the nation’s most popular sports league.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell defended the league’s DEI policies in a press conference before the Super Bowl.

“Listen, we got into diversity efforts because we felt it was the right thing for the National Football League,” Goodell said. “And we’re going to continue those efforts because we’ve not only convinced ourselves, I think we’ve proven ourselves that it does make the NFL better; so we’re not in this because it’s a trend to get in or a trend to get out of it.”

DEI puts identity ahead of merit but Goodell claimed that it helped the NFL attract the best talent.

“Our efforts are fundamental in trying to attract the best possible talent into the National Football League — both on and off the field, as I said previously — and we see that,” Goodell explained. “We see how it’s benefited the National Football League, so I think we’ll continue those efforts.”

The NFL retreats on one woke slogan for the Super Bowl

The NFL began putting woke catchphrases on the field and players’ jerseys after George Floyd’s death in 2020 sparked the Black Lives Matter riots across the country.

NFL officials pulled the slogan “End Racism” from the back of the endzone for the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

It’s being replaced with “Choose Love.”

An NFL spokesman said the change was appropriate after the New Year’s Day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

“The Super Bowl is often a snapshot in time and the NFL is in a unique position to capture and lift the imagination of the country,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said. “‘Choose Love’ is appropriate to use as our country has endured in recent weeks wildfires in Southern California, the terrorist attack here in New Orleans, the plane and helicopter crash near our nation’s capital, and the plane crash in Philadelphia.”

This is the first time since 2021 that the Super Bowl won’t have “End Racism” painted in the back of both endzones.

The AFC title game in Kansas City featured the slogans “It Takes All of Us” and “Choose Love” in the end zones.

Donald Trump is the first sitting President to attend a Super Bowl but the NFL denied the dumping slogan had anything to do with him.

Despite dumping the one slogan, the NFL is sticking with the divisive DEI programming.
