For the last decade, the radical left has used every tool in their belt to demonize Donald Trump.
Prominent leftists have called Donald Trump and his supporters every name in the book, and on a plethora of platforms.
And now the L.A. Times’ owner is speaking out after outraging his staff with this common sense move.
This democratic move has leftists pulling their hair out
The vast majority of the mainstream media loathes Donald Trump and the millions of people who support him.
For years, prominent publications, network news channels, and cable news channels have spewed venom at Donald Trump, calling him and his supporters a myriad of vicious insults.
However, voters largely rejected and ignored this vitriol, handing Donald Trump a decisive victory in the Electoral College and the popular vote.
Political experts have attributed Trump’s victory to major shifts in how Americans consume media, with many Americans turning to their preferred podcasts and social media sources for the news.
This shift began years ago, and top media platforms and media moguls have started to change their game.
For example, Los Angeles Times owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong refused to allow his newspaper to endorse a candidate in the lead-up to Election Day.
This refusal to endorse a candidate outraged many of his employees, who demanded that the Times endorse Kamala Harris.
With the 2024 election cycle in the rearview, Dr. Soon-Shiong has spoken out about this decision and the blowback he has faced for it.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Dr. Soon-Shiong claimed, “I knew I’d get pushback. If you want to lead, you have to lead, so we took that position.”
“I worried [the endorsement] would actually express that she was maybe the most consequential vice president in the history of the United States, which may be the opinion of some people and may be laughed at by other people,” he added to Fox News Digital.
As Dr. Soon-Shiong noted, he feared that an endorsement would divide his readership, and delegitimize the brand of the Los Angeles Times, which he hopes to build.
The media mogul then told Fox News Digital, “I thought, ‘Look, we can’t do that.’ We have to actually provide what we call factual basis for anything we’re going to actually endorse. It doesn’t mean we don’t endorse, but that’s not the basis of how we would endorse.”
Mainstream media outlets like the Los Angeles Times have started to learn their lesson
The Los Angeles Times, along with many other large newspapers, bashed conservatives for decades.
However, many print publications have struggled tremendously in recent years, with people turning to other platforms to get the news.
This has forced some newspapers to rethink their strategy, as evidenced by the Los Angeles Times’ refusal to endorse Kamala Harris in 2024.
The election of Donald Trump in 2024 demonstrated to many in the media that Donald Trump is an undeniable political force that will not go away any time soon.
Media moguls like Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong have learned that insulting Donald Trump is no way to boost readership.
