But Biden is trying to hamstring Donald Trump with one infuriating move on his way out the door.
Biden recruiting a DEI army
Donald Trump’s November victory was a total repudiation of the Democrats’ far-left agenda.
That’s why even Democrat strongholds like New York and California swung toward Trump by 10 points in the Presidential race.
People are sick of excessive “wokeness.”
They are tired of radical concepts like diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI), which is just code for allyship with left-wing orthodoxy.
At a time when companies and some public institutions are scrapping their DEI programs—because they don’t work—Joe Biden’s administration is doubling down.
In fact, Biden is attempting to sneak in DEI hires before Trump is sworn into office.
Investigative journalist Luke Rosiak reported for The Daily Wire, “The federal government is currently in the process of hiring as many as 1,200 employees to work on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) — employees who would be embedded into the permanent federal workforce headed into the Trump administration, according to a Daily Wire analysis of federal job opportunities.”
Biden is attempting to cram through as many DEI hires as possible, either to hamstring Trump, or create a negative news cycle for Trump if he fires all of them after getting inaugurated.
Rosiak continued, “The jobs have annual salaries of up to $310,000, and could add up to total salary payouts of $160 million a year. Thirty-three DEI jobs were posted in the 10 days immediately following the election of Donald Trump, and the hiring window closes before he takes office.”
Trying to tie Trump’s hands
This looks like an intentional act of sabotage by the Biden administration.
There is zero reason to staff up with only weeks left in Biden’s term.
Trump and his cabinet appointees will want to hire their own people.
Among the DEI positions available is a Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health under the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The position, which pays up to $221,900 per year, is designed to “promote health equity.”
DEI is essentially a patronage system for the Left.
Democrats want to reward their constituents who would otherwise have no avenues for garnering salaries that high.
The job posting said that the candidate will “exercise. . .leadership to ensure that all programs under their direction reflect the principles of workforce diversity.”
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Trump’s pick to run HHS, would be burned with a top official who “serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary. . .on minority health issues.”
Taxpayers would be on the hook for up to $160 million per year for these 1,200 positions that are of no tangible value to the country.
Regardless of what left-wing academics say, DEI does not increase social cohesion or productive output.
In fact, it does the exact opposite.
The Biden administration knew what it was doing with this move.
This is a giant middle finger to the incoming Trump administration.
