Donald Trump is only weeks away from being inaugurated.
His election victory has made an immediate impact on the culture.
And a Hollywood TV show is already pushing one agenda for Trump’s second administration.
Pro-illegal immigration storyline on CBS drama
The late Andrew Breitbart famously said that “politics is downstream from culture.”
While that is an oversimplification, it is true that culture has a massive impact on how people think about politics.
Political ideas get reinforced through film, television, theater, literature, and music.
Culture has been the Left’s secret weapon for decades.
Television shows often mirror the priorities of the Democrat Party.
For example, the CBS drama FBI recently aired an episode that framed the opposition to illegal immigration as villainous.
The Media Research Center (MRC) reported that “the CBS drama FBI used open borders language about ‘migrants’ and free housing during an episode in which a pro-illegals protester is killed. The episode, ‘Pledges,’ begins with FBI agents preparing to enter a university campus building occupied by protesters. Agents believe a prominent speaker has been taken hostage there. ‘Housing is a human right!’ riotous students scream as the FBI moves in. They find the woman they thought was a hostage, but she tells them that she is there voluntarily. She explains that students had offered to escort her out safely, but she stayed with them in support of their beliefs. In the midst of their mission, agents discover a dead student in the building who was hit over the head.”
The initial suspect was a war veteran with a checkered past who referred to college students as “snowflakes,” so he’s clearly being coded as right-wing.
During the interrogation of the suspect, an FBI agent scolded him and said that the protesters simply wanted “migrants to be housed humanely.”
TV’s tilt to the hard Left
The eventual killer turned out to be a frat boy, i.e. a privileged individual, who was selling drugs and the victim threatened to disrupt his operation.
FBI creator Dick Wolf perhaps perfected the police procedural with Law & Order.
When the original show premiered in 1990, it was mainly about cops and prosecutors solving everyday crimes.
But over the course of the last 30-plus years, Law & Order and all its spinoffs and derivatives have begun to mirror the politics of leftists.
In the Donald Trump era, television shows went crazy with seeding hard-left politics into storylines.
For example, every single medical drama featured a transgender episode in some way.
Illegal immigration was a top issue for many voters, and Trump ran on a promise to deport criminal illegal aliens.
Even blue cities are fed up with the nonsensical border policies that have led to increased levels of crime and public resources flowing to house and feed migrants.
Unfortunately for the Left, their cultural power is slowly diminishing, as evidenced by the media’s hysteria over Trump largely falling on deaf ears.
Television shows are not going to stop incoming Border Czar Tom Homan from doing what he was tasked to do.
