Donald Trump is a very polarizing figure.
People in the entertainment industry certainly have strong feelings about him.
And a former Hollywood actress was stunned beyond belief when she made one statement about Trump.
Hollywood actress vocalizes support for Trump
Most conservatives in Hollywood keep their mouths shut and their heads down so they don’t get “canceled” and lose work.
There are a few exceptions of people on the Right who openly express their views without killing their careers, but many of them have been grandfathered in, such as Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood.
And another Hollywood conservative recently spoke out about her politics.
Jessica Rey, who played one of the leads on Power Rangers Wild Force, is now the CEO of a swimwear company, and she opened up about her views in an interview with Breitbart News.
Rey explained, “So I am a small business owner. I have been designing and manufacturing swimwear and manufacturing in California, which is kind of a big deal. Instead of taking the production overseas to China, I choose to produce things ethically and pay fair wages. So I’ve stuck to my production in California, and my business is on Public Square, so I was asked to be on their talk show and I became friends with the host. She was in Georgia. Donald Trump was doing his rally in Georgia. The Pink Ladies were out there with Lara Trump doing some events, and they asked me to join them, so I was wearing my color pink on the campaign trail, really kind of out in the public sphere as a conservative for the first time.”
Rey detailed the hostility she received from the “party of tolerance.”
Threats from the Left
She confessed that “it was scary. It was kind of scary, and I decided to post about it on Instagram. And I was attacked viciously for it. And they tried to ‘cancel’ me. They tried to scare me away, basically telling me I should die, I should be raped. My family should die and be raped. Someone should try to kill me.”
Rey relayed some of the outrageous messages she received.
“You know, why am I so hateful?” Rey said. “Why am I a bigot? Why am I a white supremacist? And then they told me I’m just plain stupid, that Trump will deport me and send me away on a boat.”
That would be pretty difficult considering Rey is an American citizen.
She continued, “My father fought in the Vietnam War. He was U.S. Army. I was born on an army base. . .I was born in Kentucky. I’m not sure if boats go to Kentucky, but I just didn’t understand what they were saying. It just made no sense at all.”
Rey also talked about how some of her conservative friends in Hollywood message her and thank her for speaking out and supporting Donald Trump publicly.
Rey added, “I kind of took that leap. . .No one forced me to post about it. I just felt like I need to say something, and I want to say something, so I did and I shouldn’t have been afraid.”
People who disagree with the Left are often cowed into silence.
“I don’t like that. People are so afraid. I’ve had a lot of other actor friends from the industry text me and call me and say, ‘Thank you. We can’t do this. We can’t do it. We’re not brave enough, but thank you for saying something.’”
That is Hollywood in a nutshell.
The Left rules through intimidation and reputational destruction.
