Donald Trump and his supporters are in a festive mood after his big win.
But the fight is only beginning.
And a famed musician gave Americans one disturbing warning about what Trump is up against.
Free speech under heavy assault
Donald Trump defeated the Democrats and their comrades in the media in the 2024 election.
But he has more enemies than that, and they are not sleeping.
Trump still has to take on the Washington, D.C. Swamp, and globalist elites who want to undermine national sovereignty and crush right-wing populist movements around the globe.
That reality was made clear by former Mumford & Sons banjoist Winston Marshall.
Marshall famously left the band after he was “canceled” for offering light praise for independent journalist Andy Ngo’s book about Antifa.
Marshall apologized for promoting the book, but later rescinded the apology and quit the band to shelter his bandmates from political blowback.
Since then, the British musician has been more vocal in speaking out against threats to free speech.
Marshall recently appeared on Gutfeld! on Fox News and gave a bone-chilling warning about what’s happening in his home country.
He explained, “A week ago, my lawyer back home called me up and said, ‘Two of your tweets are technically illegal. You could be arrested when you return.’ That’s not a joke. They’ve been clearing out the prisons to put in people now for literally facebook memes. There’s someone in prison right now—they cleared out the prisons, by the way, and actual offenders, criminal violent offenders—one person reoffended the day he left. There’s one guy in prison for a Facebook meme for three months. There’s one woman who is doing two and a half years for a tweet. Right? Free speech is in utter peril. It’s a disgrace. It’s not just England. It’s the whole of Europe. It’s unbelievably concerning.”
In response to Marshall’s appearance on the show, Elon Musk responded, “Britain is turning into a police state.”

Totalitarian state
As Marshall pointed out, what’s happening in the UK is “not a joke.”
The British government is literally cracking down on online speech.
In true Orwellian fashion, the government is threatening people to be careful about what they say on the internet.

Everything Marshall said was correct.
Lucy Connolly received a 31-month prison sentence in August for “inciting racial hatred” against immigrants regarding online comments she made after three children were knifed to death in Southport.
Connolly wrote “mass deportation now” and “set fire to all the f***ing hotels full of the bastards for all I care.”
She added that “if that makes me racist so be it.”
Connolly deleted the posts after four hours, but it was too late.
In the United States, speech is protected, even unsavory speech.
Every far-left professor calling for the death of “transphobes” would be in jail by the UK’s standards.
This has been going on for years.
Back in 2018, then-19-year-old Chelsea Russell was arrested in the UK and sentenced to eight months of ankle monitoring after posting rap lyrics in tribute to a 13-year-old boy who was hit and killed by a car while riding his bike.
Reason reported, “Chelsea Russell, 19, posted lyrics to a song by the Detroit rapper Snap Dogg (no, not Snoop Dogg) on the bio of her Instagram account to pay tribute to [13-year-old] Murphy. The song, ‘I’m Trippin’,’ released in 2016, is heavy on killing snitches and waving guns around and it has lots of use of the n-word. . .According to the Liverpool Echo, Russell’s Instagram account was reported to a constable in a ‘hate crime unit’ who found the lyrics ‘offensive and upsetting.’ Russell was charged with sending a grossly offensive message by means of a public electronic communications network.”
Britain has fallen.
Speech has been criminalized.
And make no mistake about it, American leftists want to do the same thing here.
That is why there have been so many think pieces in The New York Times and The Washington Post and other outlets about how the First Amendment is problematic and needs to be rethought.
The Left are not going to stop just because Trump won an election.
It’s up to everyone to uphold the values of the Constitution so America does not go the way of Great Britain.
