Donald Trump’s win over Kamala Harris was a monumental shift in the culture.
It will take years to know the full effect.
And Trump’s election caused one shocking trend in the NFL.
Cancel culture is on its way out
Donald Trump won both the Presidency and the culture.
For eight years, there has been a pall of silence that has permeated through American society.
People who were right-of-center were afraid to express their political views, especially if they supported Trump.
Even people on the Left were afraid to speak on political issues.
There was a pervasive cancel culture that existed.
But the cone of silence has been lifted.
Not only did Trump win the 2024 Presidential election, he won the popular vote, giving him a clear mandate.
Democrats and their media allies have tried to hang their hats on the fact that Trump won a narrow Electoral College victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016, but lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes.
However, in 2024, Trump won the popular vote by almost 3 million votes.
That is a huge shift that cannot be ignored.
As a result, more people feel comfortable expressing their support for President-elect Trump.
For instance, members of the Detroit Lions hit the Trump dance after a sack in the fourth quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
They weren’t alone.
Rookie star tight end Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders also did the dance.
So did the Tennessee Titans.
And so did UFC fighter Jon “Bones” Jones with Trump in attendance.

New cultural trends
Last week, San Francisco 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa and his teammates did the Trump dance after a sack against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Yesterday: fined $11,255 for wearing a MAGA hat
Today: celebrates with the iconic Trump dance after a sack

Such a trend would have been considered unthinkable only a few short years ago.
Prior to the Buccaneers game, Bosa photobombed a postgame interview by briefly popping into the frame wearing a white MAGA hat.
Bosa is a known Trump supporter, but he kept his views quiet since entering the NFL in 2019.
He deleted his social media posts once it became evident he had a very real possibility of going to San Francisco, one of the most left-wing cities in the country.
When asked why Bosa chose to wear the MAGA one week before the Presidential election, he said that “it’s an important time” in the country.
Bosa also said that it was “a different climate” where people were less afraid to express their views.
Republicans have long bragged that they are the “silent majority.”
Trump has given more people the courage to speak out and express their views.
The Left often wins the last argument simply because the crazy things they say go unopposed.
Trump has indeed changed the climate.
Perhaps it started to shift when he literally took a bullet after the failed assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
That was the moment that Elon Musk chose to publicly support Trump.
The American people handed Trump a mandate.
There is good energy in the country, and it must not go to waste.
