Donald Trump made a ton of enemies during his first term.
Everything they put him through since has only strengthened his resolve.
And Donald Trump just sent his enemies a message that has them sweating bullets as Inauguration Day inches closer.
The nomination of Gail Slater shows that the federal government
Trump announces Slater pick; says he is not letting up on certain Big Tech companies any time soon
Modern society heavily relies on the services provided by large technology companies such as Microsoft, Apple, Meta, and Google.
For example, you may remember the meltdown that ensued last July when a coding error from the Crowdstrike security company shut down computers across the country.
While Big Tech companies provide necessary services to today’s society, these same companies have also taken disturbing measures to control and monitor the daily lives of their users.
Some companies such as Meta and Google have even worked with the Biden-Harris regime to silence Americans online, stripping users of their free speech rights for the sake of preventing the spread of so-called “misinformation.”
In a letter sent to member of Congress Jim Jordan (R-OH) earlier this year, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted to working with the Biden-Harris regime to silence Americans online.
Zuckerberg even claimed in this letter that some White House employees would get angry when Meta pushed back on their demands.
Big Tech companies have also faced intense legal pressure for allegedly stifling competition, essentially creating monopolies, and preventing other smaller technology companies from making any sort of market impact.
On the campaign trail, Donald Trump promised to reign back the power of Big Tech companies, especially companies that facilitate online censorship.
And last Wednesday, Donald Trump announced his nomination of Gail Slater, an aide for Senator and Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance, to lead the Justice Department’s antitrust division.
The President-elect announced this decision on Truth Social, telling his followers, “Big Tech has run wild for years, stifling competition in our most innovative sector and, as we all know, using its market power to crack down on the rights of so many Americans, as well as those of Little Tech!”
“I was proud to fight these abuses in my First Term, and our Department of Justice’s antitrust team will continue that work under Gail’s leadership,” Donald Trump added on Truth Social.
Gail Slater served as a tech policy adviser at the National Economic Council during Donald Trump’s first term, previously working at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for nearly a decade.
This included a stint as an adviser to former Democrat FTC commissioner Julie Brill during President Barack Obama’s administration.
Slater also has extensive experience in the private sector, holding various positions at Fox Corp. and Roku.
The nomination of Gail Slater could be very bad news for top technology companies
During the first term of the Donald Trump administration, the FTC set its sights on large companies such as Meta and Apple, opening antitrust investigations into these massive technology companies.
Gail Slater has experience holding Big Tech’s feet to the fire, bringing forth an anti-trust case against Jeff Bezos-owned Whole Foods when the grocery giant attempted to acquire the Wild Oats organic grocery company.
The incoming Donald Trump administration is expected to keep up this sort of pressure on Big Tech after inauguration day, worrying many in Silicon Valley.
Additionally, Donald Trump has promised to hold people involved in censoring Americans online accountable for their actions, causing many employees at certain Big Tech companies to worry about the future.
