Donald Trump is taking apart the Deep State piece by piece.
This is causing a massive freakout amongst the establishment.
And Trump just dealt another shocking blow to the Washington, D.C., Swamp.
Trump guts another Deep State tool
People are quickly learning that Donald Trump’s campaign promises were not hot air.
He pledged to appoint Elon Musk the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to pare down the waste, fraud, and abuse inside the Executive Branch.
However, Trump and Musk are not only uncovering financial malfeasance, but subversive tactics being deployed against American citizens.
For example, billions of dollars are being funneled into the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which is not a humanitarian organization as the acronym might suggest.
USAID is how dark money foreign policy operations get funded.
In that same vein, Trump is now pulling the plug on the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a CIA cutout that was created in 1983.
NED essentially does the work of the CIA, but does so out in the open instead of with cloak-and-dagger tactics.
The Free Press reported that “NED, a key U.S. instrument for supporting grassroots freedom movements around the world, is under siege from Elon Musk’s DOGE. An order from DOGE to the U.S. Treasury that blocked disbursement of NED funds has crippled the organization—which received $315 million for fiscal year 2025—and its affiliates.”
A NED staffer told the outlet, “It’s been a bloodbath. . .We have not been able to meet payroll and pay basic overhead expenses.”
Trump is effectively starving the Deep State of its funding mechanisms.
Warmongers panicking
The Free Press added that “NED’s dismantling would be far more than a cost-cutting measure. It would symbolize a major change in U.S. foreign policy, undercutting the notion that democratic ideals foster U.S. global strength and influence. Instead, the Trump administration would be signaling that it no longer believes that promoting democracy around the globe is in the national interest.”
“Promoting democracy” is propaganda language to justify interventionism around the globe.
This is why the Deep State has opposed Trump so strongly for the last decade.
He has non interventionist instincts, and he called the Bush-Cheney regime war criminals during the 2016 GOP Primary.
The establishment has hated him ever since.
Journalist Jim Bovard, a senior fellow at the Libertarian Institute, has long been a critic of NED.
In 2017, after the first Trump administration removed “democracy promotion” from its foreign policy charter, Bovard wrote in a USA Today op-ed, “Democracy promotion gives U.S. policymakers a license to meddle almost anywhere on Earth. The National Endowment for Democracy, created in 1983, has been caught interfering in elections in France, Panama, Costa Rica, Ukraine, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Haiti and many other nations…Rather than delivering political salvation, U.S. interventions abroad more often produce ‘no-fault carnage’ (no one in Washington is ever held liable).”
The freakout over Trump is a result of his desire to take America off the path of reckless interventionism and endless wars.
