House Intelligence chair warns about the terror threat
The terrorist attack against Bourbon Street in New Orleans by a professed militant Islamist who swore allegiance to ISIS on New Year’s Day raised renewed concerns about the threat of terrorism.
President Joe Biden opened the southern border and rolled out the welcome mat for illegal aliens.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) warned that there were members of ISIS in the United States who illegally crossed the border during an appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation.
Turner said that he was worried about terrorists who are radicalized online like the one in New Orleans and known terrorists who enter the country.
Host Margaret Brennan asked if there were terror cells currently in the country.
“Are there individuals that are affiliated with ISIS and terrorist groups and organizations that have crossed the border, that are inside the United States?” Turner asked.
“Director Wray, FBI director, has said so, we certainly have intelligence that says so, I agree with his assessment that,” Turner continued, adding “those individuals are working in conjunction with ISIS, with the intention of harming Americans.”
“The director has said it directly,” Turner exclaimed.
Eight suspected members of ISIS from Tajikistan were arrested last June in cities around the country.
He said that law enforcement was working to stop them from carrying out an attack but he made a chilling confession.
“We do not know where they are,” Turner stated. “And part of the work and part of the reason why [Wray is] raising the alarm is we need to find them to protect Americans.”
Biden opening the border allowed ISIS terrorists to stroll into the country and now no one knows where they’re at.
ISIS members smuggled across the border by human traffickers
U.S. Senator Jim Banks (R-IN) warned about a hair-raising admission from Biden’s Department of Homeland Security last summer.
“We have got to get down to the reality of the matter that we have had 400 ISIS smuggled people coming into our country that the Department of Homeland Security told us about last summer,” Banks said. “And 50 of them, we don’t know where they are. We don’t know who they are or where they are. And we have to take that more seriously. I know President Trump will do that.”
The 400 people smuggled into the country were from ISIS hot spots in Central Asia and the former Soviet Union.
Trump destroyed ISIS and their caliphate in the Middle East during his first term.
ISIS has seen a resurgence after Biden took office.
The President-elect will need to get his national security team into place quickly to handle the potential threats to the country.
