The media has always been itching for a fight with Donald Trump.
But things are changing for the worse for journalists heading into his second term.
And Devin Nunes sent the media into a fit of rage with this fact about Donald Trump.
Devin Nunes slams the media after ABC pays Donald Trump $15 million
Former House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) was appointed by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the head of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
Nunes helped expose the Russian collusion hoax during his time leading the House Intelligence Committee.
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked him about the need to “de-politicize” the intelligence community during an appearance on her Sunday Morning Futures show.
Nunes pointed out that the media weaponizes the phony information laundered to it by the intelligence community.
“If you do that, you can’t deal with where the media, the fake news media, and the left concoct conspiracies and then go and then take information and intelligence, supposed intelligence, that ends up being fake intelligence, and then open up fake investigations that then leak out to the American public, where the American public thinks that something is happening that didn’t happen, like the Russia hoax,” Nunes began.
He said that in his new role, he would look to stamp out hoaxes from the intelligence community.
The museum of fake news
Bartiromo noted that ABC News was forced to pay a $15 million settlement to Trump after host George Stephanopoulos defamed him on air.
She asked for Nunes’ reaction that ABC would have to pay the money to Trump’s future Presidential library or a foundation.
“Well, maybe it’ll be the fake news museum,” Nunes said. “But I think the key is here is, I’m glad that ABC News is doing this, but there’s so many other news agencies that need to get out of the smear merchant business, that need to get, as Pelosi said back in the day, the wrap-up smears. It just needs to end.”
Nunes – the CEO of Trump’s Truth Social platform – added that there are more sources of news like social media where Americans don’t have to rely on discredited media outlets anymore for news.
“What you need for these legacy media companies to do is to just report the facts,” Nunes explained. “Let people speak for themselves. Interview someone. Let people see it all. It’s very simple.”
“And don’t mince words, cut up people’s quotes that just is to promote a conspiracy theory or some fake news item that makes the media look so biased,” Nunes continued. “And I think that’s the key. So this is a good step that ABC News is doing. Congratulations to President Trump and his legal team that was involved in that.”
ABC News was hardly the only media that promoted hoaxes and lies against Trump.
“I will tell you, as you’re well aware, there’s dozens and dozens of others that need to do the same thing that have done a lot of bad work over the last few years,” Nunes stated.
The ABC News settlement is a wake-up call to the media about the heavy price of lying to push a political agenda.
