Denzel Washington has been one of the biggest actors working for decades.

He recently revealed that he would soon be retiring.

But Denzel Washington also made one confession that left Hollywood leftists speechless.

Denzel Washington becomes a minister

Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington has been working in Hollywood for four decades.

He’s been nominated for nine Academy Awards, winning two—one for Best Actor, and one for Best Supporting Actor.

However, Washington hit another milestone just shy of his 70th birthday.

Washington was Baptized and received his minister’s license.

He shared in a video message, “It took a while, but I’m finally here. . .If [God] can do this for me, there’s nothing He can’t do for you. . .The sky literally is the limit.”

Washington has recently discussed how people in Hollywood do not talk about God.

He said in Esquire, “When you see me, you see the best I could do with what I’ve been given by my lord and savior. . .I’m unafraid. . .I don’t care what anyone thinks. See, talking about the fear part of it – you can’t talk like that and win Oscars. You can’t talk like that and party. You can’t say that in this town.”

The Left has become increasingly secular, and that goes double for Hollywood.

When iconic director Martin Scorsese wanted to produce a series about Catholic saints, Fox Nation was the outlet that greenlit it, and many on the Left vowed not to watch it simply because of the platform it was on.

“It’s not fashionable”

Washington continued, “I’m free now. It’s not talked about in this town. It’s not talked about. It’s not talked about. It’s not fashionable. It’s not sexy. But that doesn’t mean people in Hollywood don’t believe. There’s no such thing called Hollywood anyway. What does that even mean? That to me means a street called Hollywood Boulevard.”

The actor also shared that he doesn’t know what others believe about Christianity because it is not really discussed.

“It’s not like we all meet somewhere and discuss what we believe,” Washington added, “So, I don’t know how many other actors have faith. I didn’t do no poll. How would I find that out? I mean, there’s no Church Actor Meetings I’ve been to.”

Washington is not the only actor who has made such statements.

Fellow Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey also said that talking about God can be bad for one’s career.

McConaughey told Joe Rogan in a 2020 interview, “I have had moments where I was on stage receiving an award in front of my peers in Hollywood, and there were people in the crowd that I have prayed with before dinners many times, and when I thanked God, I saw some of those people go to clap, but then notice that, ‘bad thing on my resume’ and then sit back on their hands.”

Blockbuster star Chris Pratt has been attacked for his Christian faith, so much so that he had to defend the charge he attends from spurious accusations.

Washington revealed that it is not easy to be a person of faith in an industry that in many cases has open contempt for religion.
