Saturday Night Live became a haven for un-funny leftists’ whiny political jokes over the last decade or so.
But Chris Rock went back on SNL and showed how to fix it.
Because Chris Rock leveled a brutal dig at Bill Clinton on SNL that has Hillary soiling her pantsuit.
Comedy coming back
One hallmark of totalitarianism is that comedy gets outlawed.
That’s why the Left’s war on comedy over the past several years has been so alarming.
Back in 2015, Jerry Seinfeld said that he stopped performing at colleges because the students were so “woke” and hostile.
Friend and fellow comedian Chris Rock made similar comments.
Independent comedy began to flourish as mainstream comedy was neutered by “woke” censors.
Now comedy is making a coming comeback.
Comedian Shane Gillis is one of the most popular acts in the comedy space.
Gillis landed his dream job on Saturday Night Live in 2019, but was promptly fired after someone dug up off-color jokes he made during an episode of his podcast.
Five years later, Gillis is starring in Bud Light commercials, and he was even invited back to SNL as a guest host.
Rock recently returned as a guest host, and he torched everyone in his opening monologue, including Bill Clinton.
Rock hits both sides
Rock first made an obligatory joke about Donald Trump.
He said, “Man, Trump had a good year. Man, Trump survived an assassination attempt. Survived an assassination attempt! Won the presidency again by winning the popular vote. Was just named Time Man of the Year. You know, it could happen to a nicer guy.”
Rock continued, “A lot of people are scared. It’s like, ‘Oh, my God, he’s gonna be so undignified.’ And when I say ‘a lot of people,’ I’m talking about the nine New Yorkers that didn’t vote for him. . .People are like, he’s gonna be so undignified. It’s the Presidency of the United States. Dude, it’s the United States Presidency. . .Come on, man, this is not the most dignified job in the world. You know, we’ve had presidents show up to the inauguration with pregnant slaves, okay? And I’m just talking about Bill Clinton.”

During the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Democrats depended on Clinton up and down.
They crowed out outdated social mores and that it was nobody’s business.
Yet these same people act like Victorian Era prigs regarding Trump’s history with women.
Rock also poked fun at Trump’s pledge to deport illegal aliens.
He said, “J. Lo’s gonna marry Ben [Affleck] again, just so she can stay in the country. I know she’s not Mexican, but Trump don’t know that.”

Rock continued riffing on the immigration, referencing the New York Mets paying outfielder Juan Soto a 15-year contract worth $765 million.
“My God, you know, a lot less immigrants would come into America if you stop paying them $700 million to play baseball. [New York Mets owner] Steve Cohen bought one Dominican for $700 million.”

Comedians now feel free to punch in all directions.
That’s what brings people together and eases tension.
