Brian Stelter is getting roasted for already going back to his old lying ways

Left-wing cable news networks like CNN and MSNBC have been struggling for years now.

And their ratings are hitting new lows since Donald Trump won on election night.

But now CNN’s Brian Stelter is getting roasted for already going back to his old lying way.

Say goodbye to Brian Stelter

During his short tenure running CNN, Chris Licht tried to extend a small olive branch to conservative and moderative viewers who had abandoned the channel.

He even enraged leftists when he gave Donald Trump a platform on the network in his town hall event moderated by a contentious Kaitlan Collins.

The move – and the backlash from CNN’s woke staff – played a key role in Licht getting axed from his position.

But before his exit, Licht also fired several big-name anchors for various reasons.

Licht handed pick slips to hosts Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo and Brian Stelter.

Stelter’s show, the ironically named Reliable Sources, was a constant source of leftist propaganda and routinely raked in very low ratings.

That being the case, Stelter’s firing in August 2022 was largely expected.

Say hello again to Brian Stelter

What wasn’t expected was when the struggling CNN brought the disgraced host back just in time to spread his brand of misinformation for the buildup to the election.

After two years on the unemployment line, Stelter was awarded a new role with CNN, as the company’s Chief Media Analyst.

“It will be different, because I am different,” Stelter wrote at the time. “The media industry has matured, CNN has evolved, and I have changed a lot since I signed off two years ago.”

Meanwhile, the man who replaced Licht, Mark Thompson – who spent time at both The New York Times and the BBC before taking over CNN – praised the anti-Trump Stelter as a top media commentator.

“I’m very happy to welcome Brian back to CNN in this new role,” Thompson said in a statement at the time. “Brian is one of the best global experts in media commentary, and as the founder of the Reliable Sources newsletter, he is the perfect choice to lead Reliable Sources into its next chapter.”

But Stelter might not be holding on to that job much longer if he continues to drive off viewers with his seemingly intentionally inaccurate reporting.

Donald Trump appoints General Kellogg to his administration

Donald Trump has nominated General Keith Kellogg to be a special envoy to Ukraine and Russia.

And like most of the President-Elect’s executive branch nominations, Big Media is pitching a fit about Kellogg.

Like Kristi Noem, Matt Gaetz, Pete Hegseth, and others before him, Kellogg’s credentials are coming under fire.

And Brian Stelter is leading the charge against Trump’s Kellogg pick.

Brian Stelter helps hide the truth about General Kellogg

“Among Keith Kellogg’s credentials: He has been a paid Fox contributor since 2022,” Stelter tweeted upon learning the news of Kellogg’s appointment.

Stelter seems to want his audience to believe that the “Fox News contributor” on his resume is all Kellogg is bringing to the table.

It’s a lie by omission, some would argue was made intentionally to shore up support for the Kellogg on the right.

Stelter ignored the fact that the 80-year-old general’s military career reaches back to the Vietnam War, likely hoping his attacking Kellogg in this way would cause the Right to rally behind him.

Kellogg was in the U.S. Army special forces and was the adviser to the Cambodian Army – earning both Silver and Bronze Stars.

He’s been a part of military leadership since the 1980s.

And as independent journalist Jason Rantz pointed out, Kellogg has a history of working in the White House.

“He served as the National Security Advisor to Vice President Mike Pence, as the Executive Secretary and Chief of Staff of the United States National Security Council in the first Trump administration,” Rantz tweeted. “And as National Security Advisor on an acting basis. Seems like important context.”

The real reason for attacking Kellogg

Of course, Stelter likely knew that with his tacit attack on Kellogg’s supposed lack of credentials, he could obfuscate the truth that Kellogg hasn’t been exactly aligned with Trump’s America First foreign policy.

The Hill recently reported that in a 2023 policy paper he co-authored, Kellogg called the war in Ukraine an “avoidable tragedy” which he partially blamed on President Biden’s “incompetence as a world leader.”

However, the Hill reported Kellogg insisted on continuing to arm Ukraine in the paper.

“The United States would continue to arm Ukraine and strengthen its defenses to ensure Russia will make no further advances and will not attack again after a ceasefire or peace agreement.”

In fact, Kellogg supported arming Ukraine with long-range missiles to fire inside Russia and Fox News reported in 2022 that Kellogg “advises Ukraine on who to ask for weapons.”

Kellogg has also called for a “No Fly Zone” against Russia in Ukraine, albeit one imposed by the United Nations instead of NATO.

Whoever they’re enforced by, history has shown “No Fly Zones” to be a tried and true way to escalate to full-scale war, as was the case in Iraq.
