Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is known for some big things, but many would refuse to say her brain is one of them.
The former bartender from the Bronx has proposed more than her fair share of wild stuff.
But now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is getting roasted after she was caught on video uttering this infuriating thing about the Daniel Penny verdict.
A NYC jury finally got one right
Daniel Penny is a freeman.
A jury of his peers was hung on the second-degree manslaughter charge against the U.S. Marine Veteran.
Interestingly, despite not being able to agree to the more serious charge carrying a longer sentence – the jury was able to agree that Penny was not guilty of the lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide.
For saving the lives of passengers on a New York City subway from a doped-up homeless man with a long criminal rap sheet who was making active threats, Penny faced 15 years in prison.
But the jury was able to see through Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and lead prosecutor Dafna Yoran’s politically motivated case against Penny.
The verdict was a victory for self-defense and good Samaritans.
However, it’s not sitting well with everyone – including Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Daniel Penny vs. AOC – AOC’s insane idea to combat crime would backfire in a big way
Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez was featured in a social media video opining on the Penny case.
She was asked specifically about Penny saying he would commit the same heroic act again if the situation presented itself.

And in a bizarre take, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez believes that makes the subway system less sage.
“Doesn’t that – I feel like that – that tells us everything,” Ocasio-Cortez began. “If we do not want violence on our subways, and the point of our justice system is a level of accountability – to prevent a person, who does not have remorse about taking another person’s life . . . indicates that there’s a risk that it may happen again. And if we do not want to unleash that level of violence, then we should exert a level of accountability to prevent that from happening again.”
It’s difficult to parse through all of the buzzwords and faux-intelligence speak.
But basically, what Ocasio-Cortez said was, never mind what could have happened to passengers had he not acted — Daniel Penney should be serving time behind bars.
Or, in other words, forget all the speculation that the leader of The Squad was moving to the Right post-election.
According to the Metro Transit Authority, about 3.2 million people ride the Big Apple subway every day.
So, it seems AOC would rather they be seated next to Jordan Neely than Daniel Penny – putting every one of their lives in jeopardy.
Details of Penny’s action
In the spring of 2023, 30-year-old Jordan Neely – a black homeless, career criminal — hopped on a New York City subway car and, according to witnesses, began threatening the lives of passengers.
While passengers called the police for help, U.S. Marine veteran Daniel Penny wrestled Neely to the ground and put him in restraining hold until police could arrive.
A man of Hispanic descent – who was awarded immunity from District Attorney Bragg – held Neely’s feet down.
It took the police almost 15 minutes to arrive.
Police interviewed witnesses, and bodycam footage showed passengers discussing how grateful they were for Penny’s actions.
Neely was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Following protests and complaints from the likes of Black Lives Matter, Bragg decided to charge Penny of Neely’s death.
But following the trial, and much to the chagrin of AOC, the man who should have been rewarded as a hero, narrowly escaped spending the next 15 years of his life in pinstripes working on the chain gang.
