Democrats’ lawfare against Donald Trump is backfiring.
He’s only become more popular.
And Alvin Bragg listened in horror as Democrats’ election scheme against Donald Trump blew up in their faces.
Trump will not be sentenced before the election
Democrats overplayed their hand.
After January 6 they then went too far and accused Donald Trump of inciting an insurrection, then impeached him a second time with the hope of barring him from ever becoming President again.
It did not work.
The bogus indictments and lawsuits against Trump endeared people to him even more because the court cases were so bogus.
Perhaps the worst of them all was Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s falsifying business records sham trial.
Bragg, a puppet bankrolled by George Soros, elevated the business records charge from a misdemeanor to a felony by claiming that the falsification was intended to cover up another crime.
Democrat Judge Juan Merchan, who donated money to Joe Biden’s campaign, gave a preposterous jury instruction where he told the jurors that they did not have to agree on the underlying crime, only that a crime took place.
The whole ordeal was a show trial, all so the Democrats could smear Trump as a convicted felon before the November election.
Many even speculated that Merchan would sentence Trump to jail time before election day so he would not have the ability to campaign.
However, Merchan delivered some bad news to his fellow Democrats when he delayed sentencing until after the election.
The sentencing date was moved from September 18 to November 26.
Merchan wrote in a letter that was dumped on a Friday afternoon, “The public’s confidence in the integrity of our judicial system demands a sentencing hearing that is entirely focused on the verdict of the jury and the weighing of aggravating and mitigating factors free from distraction or distortion.”
Democrats pumping the brakes on their election interference strategy
Trump was originally set to be sentenced before the Republican National Convention, but the hearing was delayed.
Democrats perhaps discovered that the lawfare against Trump was a bad look in the run-up to election day.
Merchan continued, “Unfortunately, we are now at a place in time that is fraught with complexities rendering the requirements of a sentencing hearing, should one be necessary, difficult to execute. Thus, in accordance with certain of the grounds submitted by Defendant and the reasons for adjournment provided by the People coupled with the unique time frame this matter currently finds itself in, the decision on the [motion] and the imposition of sentence will be adjourned to avoid any appearance – however unwarranted – that the proceeding has been affected by or seeks to affect the approaching Presidential election in which the Defendant is a candidate.”
After the other indictments backfired, Democrats do not want to make Trump look like a victim of an out-of-control justice system hellbent on taking him down.
They know Bragg’s case was absurd.
Even liberal legal scholars have admitted as much.
Attempting to throw Trump in jail for an alleged hush money payment to Stormy Daniels eons ago looks like political persecution, not justice.
