Donald Trump is not wasting any time.

He’s moving full speed ahead with his agenda.

And all hell broke loose when Donald Trump made this one phone call.

Trump pardons Ross Ulbricht

Donald Trump’s first administration was saddled with the bogus Russiagate investigation.

This time around, Trump has a much better understanding of the Washington, D.C., Swamp, and he’s hitting the ground running with his agenda.

During the 2024 Presidential campaign, Trump showed up at the Libertarian National Convention and promised to pardon Ross Ulbricht, who was outrageously given two life sentences for creating the website Silk Road, which allowed people to transact business via Bitcoin.

Some people used Silk Road to conduct illegal business, such as drug deals, but Ulbricht did not have any hand in those transactions; he just created and operated the website.

His unjust sentence had been a rallying cry for many libertarians during his 11 years of federal incarceration.

And Trump delivered on his promise by issuing a full pardon for Ulbricht.

He wrote on Truth Social, “I just called the mother of Ross William [Ulbricht] to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement, which supported me so strongly, it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross. The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me. He was given two life sentences, plus 40 years. Ridiculous!”

Ross railroaded

The federal government essentially wanted to make an example out of Ulbricht with his shocking conviction.

Reason, an establishment libertarian outlet, wrote in 2015, “The charges were: ‘narcotics trafficking; distribution of narcotics by means of the Internet; narcotics trafficking conspiracy; continuing criminal enterprise; conspiracy to aid and abet computer hacking; conspiracy to traffic in fraudulent identity documents; and money laundering conspiracy.’ None of the charges were related to either personally selling an illegal substance to anyone—Ulbricht merely ran a website that facilitated it—and none were related to causing direct harm to anyone’s life or property.”

Trump reportedly planned to pardon Ulbricht at the end of his first term—along with Edward Snowden—but was pressured not to do so.

Trump also wanted to declassify many files.

Speculation was that Trump was threatened with conviction by Senate Republicans in his impeachment trial if he followed through with his initial plan.

Nevertheless, Trump is back in the White House and he did what he said he was going to do.

After Trump won in November, Ulbricht wrote on social media from behind bars that he “can finally see the light of freedom at the end of the tunnel.”

Ulbricht was 31 when he was sentenced in 2015.

If not for Trump’s pardon, he likely would have died in prison.

Trump has many more election promises to deliver on, but this was a good start.

He appears to be very serious about following through with his agenda.
