Donald Trump is quickly putting together his second administration.
His nominees have been under intense scrutiny from the media.
But one Trump cabinet pick was smiling ear to ear when his son did something nobody saw coming.
Rubio’s son scores a touchdown
Donald Trump and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) have not always gotten along.
They had a contentious back-and-forth during the 2016 Presidential election.
However, the two buried the hatchet.
Trump selected Rubio to be his Secretary of State, a surprise move because Rubio is an establishment player who could undermine Trump’s foreign policy agenda.
But Trump believes in having some hawks in his inner circle to make sure that foreign countries take his threats seriously.
Rightly or wrongly, that’s why Trump kept around former National Security Adviser John Bolton during his first term.
Nevertheless, Rubio had a different reason other than his impending position for being excited.
He got to watch his son Anthony score a touchdown for the Florida Gators in the school’s bowl victory against Tulane.

When asked about the moment, Anthony Rubio thanked God.

Rubio walked on at Florida, so he does not see the field much.
Scoring a touchdown in a bowl game will likely be the highlight of his collegiate career.
Rubio’s next step
Anthony’s father briefly played football at Tarkio College, a small school in Missouri that is now defunct, before ultimately transferring to the University of Florida.
Marco Rubio will likely face an easy confirmation hearing in the Senate to become Secretary of State.
Of all of Trump’s cabinet picks, he might be the least controversial from an establishment perspective.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “It is my Great Honor to announce that Senator Marco Rubio, of Florida, is hereby nominated to be The United States Secretary of State. Marco is a Highly Respected Leader, and a very powerful Voice for Freedom. He will be a strong Advocate for our Nation, a true friend to our Allies, and a fearless Warrior who will never back down to our adversaries. I look forward to working with Marco to Make America, and the World, Safe and Great Again!”
Rubio said in response, “Leading is a tremendous responsibility, and I am honored by the trust President Trump has placed in me. As Secretary of State, I will work every day to carry out his foreign policy agenda. Under the leadership of President Trump, we will deliver peace through strength and always put the interests of Americans and America above all else. I look forward to earning the support of my colleagues in the U.S. Senate so the President has his National Security and Foreign policy team in place when he takes office on January 20.”
The first test of Trump’s foreign policy will be how quickly he can deliver on his promise to end the war in Ukraine.
The warmongers want to keep that conflict going as soon as possible, but many on Trump’s team believe that the war has run its course.
