A battle in the Senate is brewing to confirm Tulsi Gabbard to Donald Trump’s cabinet.

The Washington D.C. Swamp is willing to play dirty to keep her out.

And a top Republican shut down this attempt to sink Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination with two words.

The knives are out for Tulsi Gabbard

Former Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) became a trusted ally to President-elect Donald Trump during the election.

She left the Democrat Party to become an Independent over its obsession with identity politics and endless foreign wars.

Gabbard became a Republican in October and is a member of Trump’s transition team.

The President-elect appointed her to be his Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and oversee all 18 of the intelligence agencies in the federal government including the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Gabbard has been a critic of the surveillance state and the endless foreign wars like in Iraq, Syria, and Ukraine that establishments of both parties favor.

Her nomination has received pushback from Democrats and some RINOs who falsely accuse her of being a Russian asset or a traitor.

Senator dismantles the smear campaign against Tulsi Gabbard

U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) swatted down the attacks against Gabbard during an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press

Host Kristen Welker asked him about a smear that RINO former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley made against Gabbard.

Haley accused her of being a “Russian, Iranian, Syrian, Chinese sympathizer” and suggested she couldn’t be trusted to serve as DNI.

Schmitt called the accusations “totally ridiculous.”

“I think it’s really interesting that anybody that has a different political view now is being cast as a Russian asset,” Schmitt said. “It’s totally ridiculous. Tulsi Gabbard has served in our military.”

Gabbard deployed to Iraq with the Army National Guard and is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve.

“She’s served as a congresswoman from Hawaii — as a Democrat, I might add, part of this unique coalition that President Trump has put together and won and got that mandate,” Schmitt explained. “But I think it’s insulting. It’s a slur, quite frankly.”

Schmitt pointed out that none of Gabbard’s critics ever offer any proof for these baseless allegations.

“There’s no evidence that she’s an asset of another country,” Schmitt stated. “She’s served this country honorably. And, by the way, she cares deeply about our constitution and civil liberties and making sure people aren’t being targeted by these intelligence agencies.”

He said that Trump nominated her to reform the intelligence agencies and disrupt the status quo.

“Who cares deeply about our Constitution, and civil liberties, and making sure people aren’t being targeted by these intelligence agencies,” Schmitt said. “So, again, I think this is a reformer who can come in, who maybe is not part of the same Washington cocktail party circuit that people in the intel community are used to, but maybe that’s exactly what we need right now.”

The Swamp is attacking Tulsi Gabbard because she’s a threat to end business as usual within the intelligence community.
