The difference at the southern border is night and day under Donald Trump
President Donald Trump made it his top priority to secure the southern border after he took office.
He issued a series of executive orders on his first day in office to undo former President Joe Biden’s open border agenda and reinstate his successful border security policies.
Representative Brian Babin (R-TX) said “it is like night and day” at the southern border because of Trump during an appearance on Newsmax’s Wake Up America.
The Texas lawmaker said the new U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) chief told him that the Border Patrol’s morale is “the highest he’s ever seen.”
“We actually had one of our Border Security Caucus meetings just yesterday, and we had CBP chief Mike Banks, who is the now CBP chief but was the former Texas ‘Border Czar’ appointed by Governor [Greg] Abbott, and he was telling us that it is like night and day,” Babin said about the southern border.
Banks revealed that border crossings by illegal aliens have dropped by 90% since Trump took office.
The southern border is on pace to see the fewest number of illegal border crossings since the summer of 2020.
“It’s incredible. I mean, in a week over 7,000 deportations, it is down dramatically. I asked him a question. I said, ‘How is the morale at the Border Patrol now?’ He said it’s the highest he’s ever seen it,” Babin stated.
Babin argued that Trump’s presence in the White House was undoing more harm created by the Biden administration.
“At the same time, we’re seeing record numbers of people wanting to get into our U.S. military,” Babin explained. “Now all we had to do was to get rid of the Biden administration’s woke policies. The insanity that they were inflicting upon the United States over the last four years, and dramatic things are happening. Thank God for President Trump.”
Trump’s impact is already felt at the southern border
Biden left a southern border in chaos after the worst border crisis in the country’s history.
CBP head Michael Banks praised Trump for taking the handcuffs off the Border Patrol and letting the agency do its job during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
“US Border Patrol knows how to get the job done, we know how to secure the border,” Banks said. “All we needed was a President that was going to empower us — a strong leader like President Trump — and a secretary like Secretary Noem that knows exactly what we need to do to secure the border.”
The Del Rio Sector of the U.S.-Mexico border was being overwhelmed with thousands of illegal aliens crossing the border every day under Biden.
In September 2021, more than 14,000 illegal aliens from Haiti crossed into the Del Rio Sector over a couple of days.
Donald Trump didn’t need long to make an impact on the out-of-control illegal immigration at the southern border.
