Joe Biden’s administration has come apart at the seams.
It might completely implode before Donald Trump is even sworn in.
And a top Biden official went at the FBI after this weasel move to undermine this Trump cabinet appointment.
Jake Sullivan takes a cheap shot at Trump cabinet appointee
Donald Trump is quickly assembling the cabinet for his second administration.
Unsurprisingly, the Washington, D.C., Swamp is in panic mode.
One Trump pick that has Permanent Washington melting down is Kash Patel for FBI Director.
Patel was a top aide for former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA), and he was instrumental in unspooling the Russia gate lie.
Patel has also called for massive FBI reforms and transparency.
For those reasons, Patel could face a contentious Senate confirmation hearing.
After the appointment of Patel, Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan tried to claim that Trump was politicizing the FBI, a laughable claim after Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland weaponized the DOJ against Biden’s political opponents.
Sullivan appeared on Meet the Press with Kristen Welker and said that “we, the Biden administration, adhere to the long-standing norm that FBI directors serve out their full terms because the FBI director is a unique player in the American government system. They’re appointed for ten-year terms, not terms just for the duration of a given President.”
Sullivan mentioned current FBI Director Christopher Wray, who recently resigned instead of waiting around for Trump to fire him.
“Joe Biden didn’t fire [Wray],” added Sullivan. “He relied upon him to execute his responsibilities as the director of the FBI and allowed him to serve out the fullness of his term over the course of the Biden administration. We would like to ensure that the FBI remains an independent institution insulated away from politics.”

Sullivan had his fingerprints all over the Russia gate hoax
However, back in 2016 when Sullivan was a top aide for the Hillary Clinton campaign, Sullivan attempted to prod the FBI to investigate Trump after a Slate article that claimed Trump had a secret server to communicate with Russia.
Sullivan wrote in an official Clinton campaign statement, “This could be the most direct link yet between Donald Trump and Moscow. Computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank. This secret hotline may be the key to unlocking the mystery of Trump’s ties to Russia. It certainly seems the Trump Organization felt it had something to hide, given that it apparently took steps to conceal the link when it was discovered by journalists.”
The Russian collusion story was bunk, and he knew it at the time.
Sullivan continued, “This line of communication may help explain Trump’s bizarre adoration of Vladimir Putin and endorsement of so many pro-Kremlin positions throughout this campaign. It raises even more troubling questions in light of Russia’s masterminding of hacking efforts that are clearly intended to hurt Hillary Clinton’s campaign. We can only assume that federal authorities will now explore this direct connection between Trump and Russia as part of their existing probe into Russia’s meddling in our elections.”
The thing that makes Sullivan’s statement so slimy is that Clinton’s lawyer Michael Sussmann fed the Russian collusion nonsense to the FBI and lied about having a connection to the Clinton campaign.
During Sussmann’s federal trial, top Clinton aide Robby Mook admitted that Clinton authorized her team to feed the Russia gate story to Slate.
But Sullivan does not believe that the FBI should be politicized.
This is precisely the type of Swampy behavior that Patel needs to clean up.
