Donald Trump won a convincing victory in the 2024 Presidential election.
But that does not mean his enemies have given up.
And this Never Trumper just begged Joe Biden to do something terrifying with the rest of his Presidency.
Never-Trumper calls for authoritarianism to stop Trump
The Democrats are sick to their stomach.
They cannot believe that Donald Trump is headed back to the White House.
But Trump’s political opponents don’t end there.
Never-Trump Republicans hate him just as much, if not more.
They despise Trump because he essentially usurped their power within the Republican Party.
Now they have to leech off of Democrat donors and the left-wing media apparatus.
During a somber Election Night analysis, neoconservatives at The Bulwark whined about Trump’s victory.
Bill Kristol, Sarah Longwell, Sam Stein, Tim Miller, and Jonathan V. Last met on a Zoom call to lick their wounds.
Last went so far as to say that the Democrats should have gone full-blown authoritarian to stop Trump.
He said, “I have always thought it was a coin flip election. I never imagined that Trump could win a resounding victory like the way he has tonight. He’s going to win a larger share of the Electoral College than he did in 2016. . .This is something that I absolutely failed to imagine was possible. And what this speaks to is a structural failure of the Biden administration. . .”
He chastised the Democrats for playing too nice.
Last added that “the Biden administration approached the authoritarian attempt with the idea that, like, we’re going to fake it until we make it. And we’re going to get back to politics as normal by doing politics as normal. We are going to do a whole bunch of popular legislation. We’re going to work with Republicans. We’re going to try to help red states. We are we’re going to let the Attorney General do whatever the f*** he wants, and we are never going to look crosswise at him because we’re not going to politicize anything.”
That is an unhinged take considering all of the lawfare directed at Trump and his associates.
Last continued, “And if we just act normal enough, everything will go back to being normal. And it turns out that the hour was already later than anybody realized in 2020 and what they should have done was they should have been quite radical.”
Destroy the country to save the country
Then he said that the Democrats essentially needed to destroy democracy in order to save democracy.
Last argued, “They should have made D.C. a state. They should have actually expanded the Supreme Court. They should have done a whole bunch of stuff that would have been deeply unpopular and would have caused enormous Democratic losses, but would have restructured the framework in such a way as to make it harder for the next authoritarian attempt.”
This is a glimpse into the neocon mind.
It’s how they justify starting wars all over the globe in the name of bringing about “peace.”
Last concluded, “And this is, I think. . .the lesson Democrats will have to take from this [is that]. . .what they need is their own strong man. And I don’t know that I could sit here and tell them that they’re wrong. We hear that Kamala Harris went around the country with Liz Cheney doing an outreach to Nikki Haley Republicans. And she was given a stiff-arm by the voters. . .”
The rejection of Liz Cheney should have been seen as a repudiation of neocon ideology, but that of course was not the lesson that Last and his cohort learned.
Anyone catch this? At the end of last night’s @BulwarkOnline‘s election coverage, the hosts, agitated at Democrats’ impending demise, said the Biden Admin should have gotten even more extreme to prevent this from occurring.

Most of the neocons have been rooted out of the Republican Party.
