Property crime is up across the country.
People have become numb to shoplifting, especially in California.
But this girl melted down in a Walmart and what followed will leave you in stunned disbelief.
Tantrum goes viral
One disturbing trend that has developed over the past few years is flash mobs.
Some might be thinking of the cutesy phenomenon where a group of people break into a choreographed dance number in public.

However, flash mobs have come to be defined by mass looting and vandalism.
Los Angeles — Horrific video from Oct. 5 shows another 7-Eleven being violently looted by a “flash mob.” The lone staffer at this location tried desperately to shut the doors before he was threatened with a concrete slab by one of the masked rioters.

But one Walmart was terrorized in a completely different way.
A young girl around five or six years old went on a tantrum and began destroying the store.
She threw food on the floor and stomped on it.
She even began breaking bottles.
When people tried to intervene, a woman shouted, “Don’t yell at her. You don’t know what she’s been through.”
The woman later yelled, “Don’t record her!”
People just stood by as she sacked the place.

The cause
The disturbing episode was a microcosm of the country’s problems.
A child with seemingly no adult supervision was running wild.
People were afraid to step in for fear of being “canceled” by the mob for a wrong misstep, or even punished by law enforcement.
The extreme example would be the case of former Marine Daniel Penny being charged with second-degree manslaughter after subduing a man who was terrorizing passengers on a New York City subway.
Also, there was the meddlesome “Karen” character warning everybody not to intervene.
It’s not yet clear why the girl had no adult supervision, or what spurred the tantrum.
Many online commenters explained how such an incident was inconceivable 30 or 40 years ago.
One person said, “30 years ago that girl would have been dragged to her parents by the nearest adult and likely whoooped by parents right there.”
Another responded, “When I was a kid someone ELSE’s parent would have whooped that kid’s ass loooong before then and set her straight. That is the result of a lack of parenting. Period.”
Someone else replied, “[I don’t give a f***] what she is going through, a responsible adult would have restrained this child before she caused any more damage or possibly hurt herself or others.”
Another Twitter user wrote, “The white lady who was stopping everybody from stopping the vandal should be considered as an accessory to the crime.”
Others wanted the parents to pay for all of the damage.
“The parent should pay for every item she damaged and then be banned for life,” the person commented.
Everybody was afraid to act
Customers and employees simply stood there.
This is the culture that has been created by the Left.
Kidspot Parenting Editor Nama Winston argued that both the child and her guardian are in distress.
She explained, “It is clear that the girl, and whoever is responsible for her in the store, needs help. . .This kind of behavior is not typical for a child her age, and I’m sure the child was scared and angry, feeling overwhelmed.”
Whatever the case might be, the adults failed.
