Democrats are still trying to come up with a strategy to oppose Donald Trump.
They’re throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks.
And a Clinton official went on Fox News and gave Democrats a rude wake-up call about resisting Donald Trump.
Clinton pollster warns Democrats that scare tactics won’t work
Democrats and their media allies spent the last election dialing up the fearmongering about President Donald Trump.
This strategy proved to be a massive bust after Trump won the biggest victory for a Republican since the 1980s.
Democrats are still trying to come up with a plan to resist the President in his second term.
Former Clinton pollster Doug Schoen warned Democrats that “scaring people” about Trump was doomed to fail during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
Schoen noted that the Democrats aren’t doing much to appeal to voters with their current tactics.
“Fundamentally, I think the party should be cooperating with President Trump where the issues he’s taking on, like immigration, have broad public support,” Schoen explained. “The economy where broad public support. Reducing the size of government. You can differ with the President on substance where that is in line with party principles, but to just oppose him and just spite him proves to be a recipe for failure in the last election and we’re facing the consequences, Ainsley, of that right now.”
Democrats turn to rage after foreign aid shutdown
Fox & Friends played a clip of Congressional Democrats protesting outside of the Treasury Department building after Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his team the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led to Trump shutting down the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Another part of the clip showed CNN contributor Van Jones claiming people would die without USAID.
USAID was using taxpayer money to fund the Left’s woke agenda overseas with grants for transgender comic books, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs in Serbia, and a transgender opera in South America.
“Well, Ainsley, you make a number of points. Let me take them up,” Schoen said. “First, Americans want a smaller government. That is undeniable. Second, it is entirely appropriate to say to President Trump, we don’t think we need to cut a third of the budget, we don’t need to eliminate the number of employees he is talking about with Elon Musk, talking about reducing.”
Schoen argued that Democrats were fighting the wrong battle by going to the mattresses over USAID.
“But there is a clear desire to reduce the size of government, and internationally, the scope of foreign aid is almost certainly too broad and less targeted to where our friends and allies are,” Schoen added. “I think we Democrats do a much better job looking at the policies and offering alternative visions and alternative policies rather than, as you rightly put it, Ainsley, fear-mongering, scaring people and engaging in reckless hyperbole.”
Democrats haven’t learned any lessons from the last election despite a crushing defeat.
They’re using the same worn-out playbook to attack Donald Trump they’ve used for the last decade.
And the returns are diminishing at this point.
