Democrats want Donald Trump to walk into a situation where he’s set up to fail.
Schemes are being hatched to make sure that happens.
And a California Democrat demanded Joe Biden make this terrible move to sabotage Donald Trump.
Joe Biden urged to shut down ICE detention centers for illegal aliens
President-elect Donald Trump vowed to carry out the largest mass deportation of illegal aliens in American history.
Removing millions of illegal aliens is a massive logistical operation on top of rounding them up.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities are where illegal aliens are held while they’re waiting to be deported.
The incoming Trump administration needs to expand its detention capacity to handle the number of illegal aliens it plans on deporting.
Representative Judy Chu (D-CA) led a group of Democrats and left-wing activists who called on President Joe Biden to close the Adelanto Detention Center in southern California.
“Those detained inside have shared alarming accounts that have been corroborated time and time again by prolific reporting from non-profits, media, federal and state governments, and even ICE officials themselves,” Chu ranted.
ICE contracts out to private companies to run some of its detention centers like Adelanto.
Chu falsely claimed that the GEO Group, the company that runs Adelanto, failed to meet government standards of care for illegal aliens.
Democrats lob this bogus claim to pressure the government to close privately run ICE detention facilities.
“For years, Adelanto has been among the detention centers with the most complaints to ICE’s reporting line for allegations of sexual and physical abuses,” Chu raved. “The facts are out there, the alarm bells have been ceaselessly rung, and yet Adelanto’s doors remain open.”
Democrats know that the incoming Trump administration needs detention facilities for its mass deportation plans so they’re trying to get as many shut down as possible.
ICE looking to expand the number of detention centers it has
Texas has offered the Trump administration more than 1,000 acres of land near the border to build a detention facility to hold illegal aliens waiting to be deported.
California and other blue states that are teeming with them are trying to undermine the President-elect.
ICE put out a request in August for detention facilities that could increase the agency’s capacity to hold illegal aliens.
The agency was looking for public or privately owned facilities in Washington, California, Arizona, and Texas.
“ICE has identified a need for immigration detention services within the Western U.S. area of responsibility,” ICE spokesman Richard Beam stated. “The proposed services are part of ICE’s effort to continually review its detention requirements and explore options that will afford ICE the operational flexibility needed to house the full range of detainees in the agency’s custody.”
California tried to pass a law in 2019 that banned new detention centers for illegal aliens in the state.
A federal court smacked them down for overreaching because immigration is a federal issue.
“It’s a matter of federal jurisdiction,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said. “It’s federal. I disagree, but my office’s disagreement was considered, and the court determined that it was a federal issue.”
California Democrats don’t have any cards to play to keep the Trump administration from ramping up detention facilities in the state.
