Conservatives have had doubts about Meghan McCain for years.
Her late father Sen. John McCain’s RINO record was reason enough but, all on her own, she helped along Democrats’ narratives as the token Republican on ABC’s The View for years.
And Meghan McCain made this shocking revelation about a Taylor Swift pop star rival that has conservatives erupting.
Meghan McCain decoded a surprising message from pop star Lana Del Rey
There’s an expectation for people in film and music to espouse leftist views publicly.
Those are the entertainers who get celebrated by the media.
The stars who do not push the Left’s narratives are viewed with skepticism, and even outright scorn.
For example, Hollywood star Chris Pratt has been the target of several left-wing hit pieces despite never expressing any conservative views.
Pratt is simply coded as right-wing because he is a Christian who is not explicitly “woke.”
Pop singer Lana Del Rey is viewed in a similar way in the recording world.
Del Rey caused a stir when she married Louisiana-based alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene.
Pop divas are expected to marry other celebrities or other members of “ high society,” not alligator tour guys.
Worse yet, Dufrene is a Donald Trump supporter.
But Del Rey does not care what her detractors say.
She recently made comments about her husband that raised eyebrows.
Del Rey talked about why she “waited so long to get married” before she “met my amazing husband.”
She explained, “I really feel like there’s kind of a singer’s curse around, like, meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race. And it’s super nerve-wracking to have to kind of hold on to an innocent perception of how things could go when you’re in an industry where maybe your values and your morals don’t quite match up with what’s going on.”
Meghan McCain puts in her own two cents in response
Republican commentator Meghan McCain said that the pop singer was essentially admitting that she’s a conservative.
McCain wrote on social media, “Lana is code talking about being a conservative woman here. I know what I speak of.”

When Del Rey talks about her “values” and “morals” not aligning with the music industry, that seems to be a clear indication that she is not on board with the hedonism and wokeism that permeates the world of entertainment.
Back in 2023, the pop star dispelled notions that she grew up rich.
Del Rey—born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant—grew up in rural Lake Placid in Upstate New York.
She went to the posh Kent School in Connecticut on financial aid where the other girls referred to her as “WT” for “white trash.”
Del Rey explained that “the conversation keeps coming up about. . .me coming from money and my family having money. . .[C]oming from the most rural spot and arguably. . .one of the most rural spots in America that didn’t was not a wealthy town and. . .having gone to a boarding school where I didn’t even know I was going, I didn’t have any concept of, and got financial aid for because my uncle worked in the administrative building. And also being completely alienated from all the kids who already knew each other from New York City, I had such a tough time there because everyone knew how much money everyone had. So, unfortunately, my experience every day was having people call me ‘WT from LP,’ white trash from Lake Placid.”

It seems as though Del Rey is done with the pretension of the entertainment world.
And who knows this may be one of the occasions Meghan McCain was actually right.
