Joe Biden thought that Democrats were rowing in the same direction.
Now that his Presidency is coming to an end the secrets are coming out.
And a top Democrat revealed his shocking role against Biden-Harris officials in one fight with Texas.
Texas Democrat proposed using buoys in the Rio Grande River to stop illegal aliens
President Joe Biden left states to fend for themselves against illegal aliens during the border crisis he created.
Texas launched Operation Lone Star to secure the state’s border with Mexico in 2021.
One of the tactics that Texas used to block illegal aliens from crossing the Rio Grande River was playing a string of floating buoys in the river with nets underneath them to keep anyone from swimming under them.
The buoys have circular saws between them and rotate to keep anyone from climbing over them.
Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) represents a House district in Texas that borders Mexico.
He’s been one of the few Democrats willing to push back against the Biden-Harris administration over the border crisis.
Cuellar revealed that he was the one who came up with the idea to place buoys in the Rio Grande River.
“A lot of people don’t know this, but actually, I was the one years ago who suggested that to Border Patrol because I did not want the wall,” Cuellar told Newsweek.
The buoys had a surprising advantage over a wall.
“So when somebody crosses and touches the riverbanks, they can claim asylum,” Cuellar explained.
Texas has fought to keep place buoys in the river
The Biden-Harris administration has filed lawsuits to stop Texas from playing buoys and taking other measures to secure the state’s border.
President-elect Donald Trump has welcomed the help from Texas and other states that have taken actions to secure the border.
“I think under the new administration, they will be more conducive to working with the state (of Texas) on buoys,” Cuellar said.
He claimed that he preferred buoys to building a border wall.
“I prefer buoys over building a fence and taking private property away,” Cuellar explained. “The state plays a role, but combining their resources, personnel, and equipment with federal agencies would do a better job at securing the border.”
Cuellar gave credit to Texas Governor Greg Abbott for running with the idea.
“I’m not taking anything from Governor Abbott,” Cuellar said. “I congratulate him.”
Abbott Press Secretary Andrew Mahaleris revealed the buoys have been remarkably effective at deterring illegal aliens from crossing.
“Texas deployed floating marine barriers last summer to help deter and repel illegal river crossings—these have been so successful that not a single migrant has attempted to cross over them,” Mahaleris said.
The state is planning on placing more of them in the river.
“Despite the Biden Administration fighting us every step of the way, courts have ruled that Texas has the right to deploy floating marine barriers, and Texas is installing even more of these barriers to stop illegal immigration into our state. Until the federal government steps up and does its job to secure the border, Texas will continue utilizing every tool and strategy to respond to the border crisis and protect Texans,” Mahaleris added.
Texas will finally have backup securing its border when Donald Trump returns to the White House.
