Donald Trump’s victory in the Presidential election is already starting to pay dividends.
His pending return to the Oval Office caused a major shakeup.
And one major change took place after Donald Trump’s election that sent Democrats into a rage.
Haitians in Springfield, Ohio begin to self-deport after Donald Trump’s win
President-elect Donald Trump brought the crisis in Springfield, Ohio into the national spotlight during his September debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The small Ohio city of about 58,000 people was overwhelmed with an influx of as many as 20,000 illegal aliens from Haiti during the Biden-Harris administration.
Haitians were given Temporary Protected Status (TPS) which allows illegal aliens to be shielded from deportation and gives them work permits.
Springfield’s hospitals and schools were overwhelmed dealing with so many of Kamala’s newcomers so quickly.
Haitians get constant car accidents while driving uninsured without a driver’s license.
Trump vowed that he would revoke their TPS status if he won the election.
“You have to remove the people, and you have to bring them back to their own country. They are, in my opinion, it’s not legal,” Trump told NewsNation.
Now, Haitians are starting to leave Springfield ahead of Trump’s inauguration.
Springfield resident Barron Seelig told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the situation on the city’s roads is improving.
“The traffic situation seems to be better now,” Seelig said.
He claimed that rumors of looming Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids and Ohio’s cold winter have caused Haitians to skip town.
Another Springfield resident said that U-Haul moving trucks were hard to come by because so many Haitians were renting them.
Haitians flee Springfield ahead of potential deportation
Groups in Springfield who aide Haitians admitted that they’ve seen a growing number of them begin to pack up and leave town ahead of Trump’s inauguration.
Margery Koveleski helps Springfield’s Haitian residents navigate the government bureaucracy.
“Some folks don’t have credit cards or access to the internet, and they want to buy a bus ticket or a plane ticket, so we help them book a flight,” Koveleski told The Guardian. “People are leaving.”
Haitian Community Alliance co-founder Jason Payen admitted that Trump’s victory had caused an exodus from the Ohio city.
“People are fully aware of the election result, and that is why they are leaving; they are afraid of a mass deportation” Payen stated. “Several of my customers have left. One guy with his family went to New Jersey; others have gone to Boston. I know three families that have gone to Canada.”
Trump’s newly appointed “Border Czar” Tom Homan told Cleveland conservative talk radio show host Bob Frantz that Springfield’s Haitians could be deported after TPS was ended.
“That can end tomorrow. And if TPS ends, they’re removable,” Homan explained. “We need strong leadership at the White House and department to say, ‘You know what, temporary means temporary. Whatever reason you guys got your temporary protected status, whether it’s a hurricane or war in your homeland, as soon as your situation clears up, you need to go home. And we need to be real hard on that, that temporary means temporary.’”
The fear of Donald Trump returning to the White House is already beginning to help solve the illegal immigration problem.
