Merrick Garland dismisses the conservative claims the Justice Department has been weaponized
Attorney General Merrick Garland delivered a speech to Justice Department employees where he said that the department should never “be used as a political weapon.”
This would come as news to anyone who’s watched the Biden-Harris administration weaponize the Justice Department against their political opponents, chiefly former President Donald Trump.
Garland called the claim that Trump was a victim of lawfare a “dangerous falsehood.”
“Our norms are a promise that we will not allow this nation to become a country where law enforcement is treated as an apparatus of politics,” Garland said with a straight face.
Justice Department employees cheered him for his fact-free pep talk.
Former Representative Tulsi Gabbard told Fox News host Laura Ingraham it was “hard not to laugh” at Garland’s speech where he “tried to sound so serious and so convicted and so grave about never ever politicizing or weaponizing these government agencies.”
She said that the Justice Department has been politicized dating back to the Trump administration.
Gabbard noted she was put on a “terror watch list” by the Biden-Harris Transportation Security Administration (TSA) after an appearance on Ingraham’s Fox News show in July.
“I would tell Merrick Garland today, if you are serious about the words you have just delivered to the American people, why don’t you start by investigating some of your own federal agencies, like the Department of Homeland Security and TSA, and ask them why, after one day, the very next day after I called out Kamala Harris for being a danger to our country should she be elected as President, I got added to a secret domestic terrorist list,” Gabbard said. “That’s a good place to start.”
Merrick Garland crushes whistleblowers
Numerous whistleblowers inside the Justice Department have come forward during the Biden-Harris administration because of the agency’s weaponization.
Gabbard pointed to former FBI agent Steve Friend, who came forward as a whistleblower because of the bureau’s use of January 6 to wage war against Trump supporters.
Friend was retaliated against by the FBI when they leaked his medical records and other personal information.
Gabbard said the way the Biden-Harris administration used government agencies to go after political opponents was comparable to a tinpot dictatorship.
“Those who are in power, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, are weaponizing and politicizing the Department of Justice and law enforcement agencies, both at the federal level and the state level, to take out their political opponent, the greatest threat to their power, in a way that has never been done before in our country’s history,” Gabbard said. “That’s where [Garland] should start.”
Merrick Garland isn’t fooling anyone when he claims that the Justice Department has stayed politically neutral.
Weaponizing the department against the Left’s political opponents is a central part of the Biden-Harris administration’s political strategy.
