Investigating the Twitter Files is one of Congress’s top priorities, and unsurprisingly, Democrats are not happy about it.
The more details that emerge in relation to the Twitter Files, the more angry House Democrats become.
But, Twitter users could not believe their ears after Stacey Plaskett makes this unhinged threat.
The Twitter Files have sent Democrats into a state of panic and Matt Taibbi could go to jail
In December of 2022, Twitter’s new boss, Elon Musk, handed over a treasure trove of Twitter’s documents and internal memos to journalists.
These documents and internal memos showed that Twitter’s former employees and directors worked very closely with government officials to silence conservatives online.
The exact details of these allegations are still under investigation, however, if they are true, it reveals that the F.B.I. and other federal law enforcement agencies are coordinating to stifle free speech.
At the forefront of this controversy is journalist Matt Taibbi, who published the memos and documents from Twitter, given to him by Elon Musk, online for the public to read for themselves.
Given Taibbi’s integral role in this controversy, Taibbi was called to testify before Congress and answer questions about this scandal.
Unsurprisingly, Democrats are not very eager to unveil this anti-free-speech scheme.
Democrat Rep. Stacey Plaskett of the Virgin Islands, who serves as a non-voting delegate in the House of Representatives, even went as far as to threaten Taibbi with jail time for helping to expose this scheme.
In the letter, Rep. Plaskett asks a series of questions, demanding that he answer them by April 21, 2023.
Some of the questions include “Are you aware of any other errors in your factual testimony from March 9, 2023?”, “Have you reviewed your other “Twitter Files” tweets for similar errors?”, and “When did Twitter CEO Elon Musk first contact you?”
At the end of the letter, Rep. Plaskett claims that Under the federal perjury statute, 18 U.S.C. § 1621, providing false
information is punishable by up to five years imprisonment.”

The legal threats that Rep. Plaskett gave to Matt Taibbi prove that she and other House Democrats are very nervous.
For years, many have speculated that the government was coordinating with Big Tech companies to silence conservatives and go after Trump.
The Twitter Files reveal that these speculations may be true, and that the government went to further lengths to silence Trump than anyone could have imagined.
