Twitter made an unthinkable statement about the Taliban that left everyone scratching their heads

Big Tech has made a mockery of free speech.

Censorship has run amok on the platform that has become a modern-day public square.

But Twitter made an unthinkable statement about the Taliban that left everyone scratching their heads.

Twitter defended its decision to allow Taliban leaders to post freely on the social media site.

The decision might’ve made sense had Donald Trump not been booted from the platform for “inciting an insurrection.”

Breitbart reports:

“Twitter said in a statement on Tuesday that the Taliban will be allowed to stay on its social media platform, as long as they don’t get overly violent. The company claims it will ‘proactively enforce our rules’ but stopped short of saying it would blacklist the Taliban, as Facebook did today.”

Considering the Taliban just seized the American embassy in Kabul and are going door-to-door and executing “collaborators,” it seems as though that would qualify as overly violence.

A Twitter spokesman announced:

“We will continue to proactively enforce our rules and review content that may violate Twitter rules, specifically policies against glorification of violence, platform manipulation and spam.”

This judgment is laughable.

Afghans are risking death and clinging to departing jets in order to escape the wrath of the Taliban.

People are being shot on camera by the Taliban.

But Trump tweeted mean stuff, so he’s clearly the bigger threat.

The sociopathic double standard shows that the establishment only cares about threats to its own power.

The Taliban isn’t an imminent threat halfway around the world, but Trump is waking people up to the corruption that’s rooted in Washington, D.C., Wall Street, and Silicon Valley.

Every day that the Taliban Tweets while Trump is banned is another day that Twitter loses legitimacy.

Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal has been an utter disgrace, and the Taliban is free to gloat about it on Twitter because they haven’t violated the site’s “community standards.”

Having two accounts or tweeting mean things will get you kicked off Twitter, but running an actual terror organization that just toppled a democratically elected government will not.
