Big Tech has become a massive battleground over civil liberties.
The establishment is making the move to censor conversations it doesn’t like.
Now Twitter made a concerning move to combat so-called “misinformation.”
The fusion of Big Tech and establishment media is happening quicker than anyone expected.
Twitter announced that it is essentially outsourcing its fact-checking to The Associated Press and Reuters, two corporate-controlled press entities that adhere to the establishment narrative.
Twitter wrote in a statement:
“We’re excited to share that Twitter is collaborating with The Associated Press (AP) and Reuters to expand our efforts to identify and elevate credible information on Twitter.
We are committed to making sure that when people come to Twitter to see what’s happening, they are able to easily find reliable information. Twitter will be able to expand the scale and increase the speed of our efforts to provide timely, authoritative context across the wide range of global topics and conversations that happen on Twitter every day.”
“Reliable information” simply means corporate-controlled press outlets that all lean Left.
“Twitter’s Curation Team helps give people context to make informed decisions about what they see on Twitter. When large or rapidly growing conversations happen on Twitter that may be noteworthy, controversial, sensitive, or may contain potentially misleading information, Twitter’s Curation team sources and elevates relevant context from reliable sources.”
Conservatives and counter-narrative liberals have pointed out that Twitter routinely controls what trends and what doesn’t, often ignoring organic trends favorable for the Right in favor of manufactured trends with little real engagement.
But now Twitter is simply coming out and saying they will curate trends to dovetail with “reliable information.”
Control over social media has been the project of the establishment ever since the migrant crisis of 2015, Brexit, and the election of Donald Trump.
Twitter’s latest move brings the establishment closer to boxing in conversations online, and this will only ramp up as the Left accelerates its purges of Trump supporters or anyone tangentially right-wing.
Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube notoriously suspended accounts that promoted COVID-19 “misinformation,” even though the supposed misinformers turned out to be correct.
For example, the Wuhan lab leak theory was not allowed to be discussed for many months.
Now liberal comedian Jon Stewart is allowed to joke about it on national television.
The corporate-controlled media doesn’t have the market share they once enjoyed, but they’re still attempting to exert control and it’s working.
