Big Tech companies are operating as watchdogs for legacy media and the political elite.
They enforce censorship rules against Conservatives that the media or establishment politicians cannot.
And Twitter is doing something to Project Veritas that will make your skin crawl.
Project Veritas, the investigative journalism outfit run by James O’Keefe, is being targeted by the establishment.
O’Keefe has been attacked by politicians, journalists, and Big Tech.
Now Twitter is applying an absurd double standard to take down Veritas.
The social media giant is allowing The New York Times to publish leaks of privileged communications between Veritas and its lawyers that were obtained during an FBI raid.
But that is not how Twitter handled the Hunter Biden “laptop from hell” story broken by The New York Post.
“Twitter is allowing the posting of a New York Times article based on materials leaked by federal investigators about Project Veritas, the investigative journalism organization whose offices were recently raided by the FBI. This flies in the face of the treatment of the New York Post’s blockbuster articles on Hunter Biden’s laptop, which Twitter censored because it was ‘content obtained without authorization.’”
O’Keefe was raided under dubious circumstances.
He received a tip from someone who claimed to have a diary belonging to Ashley Biden, Joe Biden’s daughter.
O’Keefe consulted with his lawyers and ultimately decided not to do anything with the story.
Leftists falsely claim this is a “stolen” diary – a claim used by the FBI as pretext to raid O’Keefe’s private residence.
O’Keefe wrote on his website regarding the diary:
“We investigated the claims provided to us, as journalists do. We took steps to corroborate the authenticity of the diary. At the end of the day, we made the ethical decision that because, in part, we could not determine if the diary was real, if the diary in fact belonged to Ashley Biden, or if the contents of the diary occurred, we could not publish the diary and any part thereof. We attempted to return the diary to an attorney representing Ms. Biden, but that attorney refused to authenticate it. Project Veritas gave the diary to law enforcement to ensure it could be returned to its rightful owner. We never published it.”
So O’Keefe gave the diary to law enforcement and never ran any stories on it, but he was still raided by the feds.
Coincidentally, the leaks ended up in the hands of The New York Times, which is currently embroiled in a lawsuit against Project Veritas.
The game being played by Big Tech, the Deep State, and legacy media is truly astounding.
It’s a miracle O’Keefe is still standing despite constant harassment and targeting from the Left.
