But Donald Trump just hit back against Merrick Garland’s unconscionable raid on Mar-a-Lago.
The fallout is still settling after Attorney General Merrick Garland authorized the FBI to raid Donald Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago in true banana republic fashion.
The pretext for the apparent fishing expedition was an alleged violation of the National Archives and Records Administration.
The idea that that justifies a raid on a former President is preposterous.
Trump called for a special master to review the documents that were taken by the FBI, a move that was appealed by the Department of Justice.

And now Trump’s lawyers filed an emergency request for the Supreme Court to intervene and stay the DOJ’s appeal.
The filing read, “The unprecedented circumstances presented by this case—an investigation of the Forty-Fifth President of the United States by the administration of his political rival and successor—compelled the District Court to acknowledge the significant need for enhanced vigilance and to order the appointment of a Special Master to ensure fairness, transparency, and maintenance of the public trust. That appointment order is simply not appealable on an interlocutory basis and was never before the Eleventh Circuit. Nonetheless, The Eleventh Circuit granted a stay of the Special Master Order, effectively compromising the integrity of the well-established policy against piecemeal appellate review and ignoring the District Court’s broad discretion without justification. This unwarranted stay should be vacated as it impairs substantially the ongoing, time-sensitive work of the Special Master. Moreover, any limit on the comprehensive and transparent review of materials seized in the extraordinary raid of a President’s home erodes public confidence in our system of justice.”
The feds seem eager to delay or outright block a special master from reviewing the documents.
The pretense for such an extreme action was flimsy, and the corporate-controlled press tried to provide justification by suggesting that nuclear secrets and NOC (non-official cover) lists were clumsily lying about at Trump’s home.
Democrats have made a big show of FBI raids and arrests of Trump associates with camera crews on standby, so it’s quite telling that they executed the raid in secret when Trump was out of town.
Whatever they were looking for, they seemingly did not want anyone to know about it.
