The National Basketball Association has been driving away fans by running a full court press pushing so-called “Social Justice” and other woke propaganda.
And it’s not just coming from league executives – Many NBA players are loudly and proudly backing some of the most extreme movements in America.
That’s why it came as such a huge surprise when this basketball giant said he plans to run for office – as a Republican.
Instead of taking Michael Jordan’s, “Republicans buy sneakers too,” approach, the National Basketball Association has picked a political side.
The NBA is in league with the Chinese Communist Party – so much so that the General Manager of the Houston Rockets, Daryl Morey, was forced to step down from his position after supporting Hong Kong protestors.
Teams put Black Lives Matter logos on their courts and players wear gay pride badges on their jerseys.
Lebron James went as far as saying if he was stuck in a Russian gulag like the WNBA’s Brittney Griner was, he wouldn’t want to come back to America.
Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown even threatened to boycott the NBA Finals last year unless Congress passed gun-grabbing legislation to curb so-called, “gun violence.”
NBA star revealed his political ambitions to Fox Business host
But 6’10” journeyman center Enes Kanter Freedom is bucking the trend.
Kanter Freedom told Fox Business Network that he is planning to run for elected office, and not as a Democrat as many would expect from an NBA player.
On her show, Mornings with Maria, host Maria Bartiromo asked the 13-year veteran if he has political aspirations.
“I actually do, yes,” Kanter Freedom said. “I would actually, when the time is right.”
Bartiromo followed up, asking if he’s already started the process.
“I haven’t started yet,” Kanter Freedom answered. “But I started to have conversations with some of my friends and members of Congress.”
Kanter-Freedom has made powerful connections last year by attending lunches with Senate Republicans and the House Republican Study Committee.
He was also scheduled to be a CPAC speaker last year, but had to cancel.
As of late, he’s become a regular on conservative news shows.
The former first-round draft pick is an immigrant from Turkey and became a naturalized U.S. citizen back in November, 2021.
At that point he legally changed his name from Enes Kanter to Enes Kanter Freedom.
And he’s done his best to live up to the name, being a strong advocate for firs tand second amendment rights.
Kanter Freedom has also been very vocal against the Chinese Communist Party and his home country of Turkey.
He blasted LeBron James for sticking by China during the Hong Kong protests.
It is unknown what office Kanter Freedom is eyeing – or even where.
He’s bounded around the league over the course of his career, playing for five different teams.
And while he’s been a starter for the bulk of his run, he’s never really been a star player.
Add to that, three of the teams he played for are in New York City, Boston and Portland.
He started his career in Salt Lake City playing for the Jazz – however, many say it is difficult to win in Utah without being a Mormon, and Kanter Freedom is Muslim.
That leaves Oklahoma City – where he played from 2014-2017.
Oklahoma could be a potential landing spot for the basketball big man.
