Donald Trump was banished from all social media platforms.
And the censorship of Republicans and conservatives is just getting started.
Now the US Postal Service is running one program that will make your blood run cold.
It turns out that the United States Postal Service is running a surveillance operation on the American people.
The most bizarre aspect of the revelation is that they’re monitoring social media posts, not snail mail.
Yahoo! News reports:
“The details of the surveillance effort, known as iCOP, or Internet Covert Operations Program, have not previously been made public. The work involves having analysts trawl through social media sites to look for what the document describes as ‘inflammatory’ postings and then sharing that information across government agencies.”
The Orwellian nature of the program being called “iCOP” is palpable.
The iCOP program is being used to monitor organized protests of so-called “radical groups” – iCOP was used in advance of supposed right-wing protests that were allegedly going to take place on March 20.
No protests happened, but the threat of “far-right” protests was used as a pretext for Washington, D.C. to remain under military occupation.
When the United States Postal Inspection Service was confronted about the program, it released the general statement:
“The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is the primary law enforcement, crime prevention, and security arm of the U.S. Postal Service . . . As such, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service has federal law enforcement officers, Postal Inspectors, who enforce approximately 200 federal laws to achieve the agency’s mission: protect the U.S. Postal Service and its employees, infrastructure, and customers; enforce the laws that defend the nation’s mail system from illegal or dangerous use; and ensure public trust in the mail.”
Some have wondered why the USPS is monitoring social media posts, which seems outside its purview, but it makes sense within the context of centralizing and militarizing state power.
During the Obama administration, several executive branch agencies – such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service – were militarized and even conducted armed raids on American citizens.
The establishment wants as much nationalized control as possible, so the Postal Service acting as another enforcement wing of the federal government comports with that mission.
Also, censorship of social media requires all hands on deck – the Democrat Media Complex can’t stand the fact that information can be spread without going through their gated institutions.
