The Democrats are moving full steam ahead in order to take down Donald Trump.
They are inventing legal theories and stretching the law to put Trump behind bars.
But one tactic used to go after Trump just backfired on the Left.
Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis filed RICO charges against Donald Trump and 19 associates in her indictment.
Willis is attempting to treat Trump like a mafia boss in order to roll up dozens of people in a blockbuster investigation.
However, even liberal legal scholars have questioned the merits of the Georgia indictment.
Tasting their own medicine
But now RICO charges are being used against the Left.
Antifa terrorists who have been protesting Cop City, a new training facility for police officers outside of Atlanta, were charged after causing mayhem, preventing construction, and shooting at cops.
Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr said in a statement, “As this indictment shows, looking the other way when violence occurs is not an option in Georgia…If you come to our state and shoot a police officer, throw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement, set fire to police vehicles, damage construction equipment, vandalize private homes and businesses, and terrorize their occupants, you can and will be held accountable. We will not waver when it comes to keeping people safe, enforcing the rule of law, and ensuring those who engage in criminal activity are vigorously pursued and aggressively prosecuted.”
Carr is using the state RICO law to charge 61 defendants for crimes ranging from arson to money laundering.
Antifa goons’ Cop City attacks are seen as possible attempt to influence Trump Grand Jury
Unlike the Trump organization, there is plenty of incontrovertible evidence that Antifa operates as a criminal organization.
The group attempts to skirt RICO charges by claiming that Antifa is “just an idea” and not a group with a command structure.
But that is not true.
Antifa cells all unite under the same flag, use the same tactics, dress in the same outfits, and believe the same ideology.
Footsoldiers are even deployed by color-coded teams.
The notion that Antifa was nothing more than a “myth” was absurd.
Antifa terrorists have been allowed to operate in Portland with impunity.
During the George Floyd riots, they firebombed a federal courthouse for over a week.
And that’s just one city.
As evidenced by the Georgia charges, Antifa has spread to cities across the country.
If Antifa is going to shoot at cops and beat people in the street, then the RICO charges are more than appropriate.
