Police in one major American city just crossed the line when asking for this bizarre piece of information

In the age of social media and instant access to information privacy is going the way of the Dodo.

Big Tech has repeatedly revealed that they’re watching people’s every move on the internet even without consent.

And police in one major American city just crossed the line when asking for this bizarre piece of information

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has directed its officers to collect the social media information of every civilian they interview, including individuals who are not arrested or accused of a crime, according to reports from The Guardian.

Copies of what are called “field interview cards” that police complete when asking a civilian questions show that LAPD officers are instructed to record a civilian’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media accounts alongside basic biographical information.

Well, that’s certainly unnerving.

LAPD police chief Michel Moore told officers it was critical to collect the data for use in “investigations, arrests, and prosecutions.”

Moore also warned that supervisors would review cards to ensure all information was filled out.

What the LAPD believes this is helping is anyone’s guess.

It can’t be a tactic to help reduce crime because crime rates continue to increase in Los Angeles.

It’s doubtful the information is being used for any good.

Some are speculating it’s part of the Big Tech power grab to censor those who are not in lockstep with Biden and his administration.

Whatever the reasoning it’s odd and somewhat hard to believe cops are asking for people’s Twitter handle while investigating a drive-by shooting.

The Left is working tirelessly to gather information on every American and they will leverage any entity they can to do it.

It is a textbook tactic to silence the dissenters and with so many voicing their opinions online these days, whatever better way to gather their information than through intimidation.

Say what you want, but most people who are asked for information by a police officer will hand it over regardless of what is being asked.

The police state is spiraling out of control.
